Successful JPG Le Beau Le Parfum alternative!
Asad Zanzibar / اسد | Lattafa / لطافة" had already aroused my interest a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, the export to Europe had been delayed somewhat, so that I was only now able to make the blind buy for a good price.
In contrast to the slightly cheap-looking bottle, the ingredients suggest a beautiful aquatic summer fragrance.
Even the tropical coconut vibes, if they are not too feminine, are always welcome in my home!

I'm a big Le Beau Le Parfum fan!
It gives me exactly the vibes I expect from a beach fragrance on vacation.
At 30 degrees in the shade, linen shirt open, sipping cocktails on the Malecon in Havana, there is no better fragrance.

And to make a long story short:
The Asad Zanzibar goes in the same direction! It also immediately gives me those creamy coconut vibes that Le Beau Le Parfum also exudes.
However, in direct comparison, Zanzibar also has a subtly smoky vanilla and something floral, which I find very interesting.
It is not quite as sweet as Le Beau Le Parfum and lies exactly between Aquat and Gourmand.

The H/S doesn't need to hide either. Zanzibar lasts a good 7 hours with a moderate sillage.
It's not a fragrance that overwhelms you, but it's still very perceptible and lasts a day at the beach without any problems.

I am delighted to welcome another top summer fragrance in 2024 with Zanzibar.
Let the vacation begin!

Coconut, vanilla, salt and eraser
After Asad hit the spot, I was as excited as many others about Asad Zanzibar This was supposed to be a summery coconut fragrance a la Le Beau Le Parfum and that naturally piqued my interest.
I have owned Le Beau Le Parfum for a long time and to this day it is one of my favorite designers.
That's why I could compare it with Asad Zanzibar and I have to say that they are totally similar.
I also don't know any other fragrance that resembles Asad Zanzibar.
It reminds me minimally of Scandal pour Homme.
It's not a dupe / alternative to it,
but both fragrances have something in common, I can't explain it either.

About the fragrance :
The start is sweet, creamy and slightly salty.
I hardly notice the freshness that all the influencers talked about.
And this is supposed to be a summer fragrance, I thought?
I was hoping to perceive a fresh coconut at least in the DD, but it turned out worse than I thought.
Coconut is actually prominent somewhere in the DD, but doesn't smell as realistic as I had hoped.
At the same time, I then notice the salt and vanilla.
Coconut and vanilla would be nice on their own, but salt? Somehow it doesn't quite fit and you can smell it too.

But it gets worse.
Because shortly afterwards, an iris is added which, in combination with the salt, simply smells like an eraser.
So you get a coconut note, which is not exactly the prettiest, vanilla, some salt and eraser.
In the air, you probably don't notice it as much.
But it still bothered me so much that I had to sell it again.

You only get rid of this eraser note after an hour and I don't want to wait that long.
What remains is a sweet / salty coconut, vanilla scent that has designer quality.
There is a certain freshness, but the sweetness or saltiness is predominant and that's why I don't really see it in summer.

I'm also not really convinced by its performance.
I only tested it on clothing, where it lasted 24 hours and was then barely noticeable.
With other fragrances on the same fabric, I can expect it to last 2-3 days.
I didn't find the scent very strong either, I would say moderate, Lattafa is better at that.

A bad buy that fortunately didn't cost me the earth.
Can therefore not recommend it to others.
But if you like synthetic, sweet designers, you might be happy here.

One time please: "Oversalted coconut"

Two days ago I received my sample of Asad Zanzibar and I was very excited to see what it would smell like. The massive number of positive reports about this fragrance on social media have of course honestly raised my expectations.

About the fragrance (in a nutshell)

⮕ The fragrance is generally very tropical, which is probably due to the
Coconut water note comes about. The creamy vanilla is also very pleasant in the drydown and harmonizes with the coconut. What I absolutely dislike, however, is the opening of the fragrance. The fragrance starts too salty for me in the first 2 hours and somehow not coordinated. However, it must also be said that it fades after these 2 hours and the fragrance gets back on its feet.

Opening ⮕ An earthy/sweet coconut with too much salt, as well as pepper and incense nuances

Drydown ⮕ Creamy musky coconut
Shelf life ⮕ 10h
Sillage ⮕ 1.30h in the air and 10h close to the skin

Conclusion:
The heavy salt note destroys the fragrance for me if this salt note were a little more subtle, I would personally put on the full bottle.
For me personally, it smells absolutely nothing like Le Beau or Le Beau Paradise Garden.
Opening not for everyone due to the excessive salt smell, but in any case a successful tropical fragrance but I still don't think it justifies the hype.

Salty-sweet coconut
I'm a little ambivalent about this fragrance. As with many other Lattafa fragrances, I don't really like the top note. The pepper is simply far too dominant here again.

However, once the pepper has faded a little, this is a really nice summer fragrance that puts you in a vacation mood.

In the heart note, the salt note duels a little with the coconut on my skin and neither of them really knows which is the star of the show and which is more in the background, but in the drydown - after about an hour for me - it becomes a creamy, slightly powdery-sweet coconut-heavy fragrance.
I think it's beautiful! Just right for the summer.

Girls have PATIENCE with him
Tested today at ️ 27°C/ First Impression : The start was an absolute disaster for me. Loud, bitingly cool & immediately salty... VERY SALTY, to run away from. 'Well, it's also a man's fragrance, maybe it has to be that way ... just be patient', I told myself to give it a real chance. As soon as the iris makes an appearance, it becomes more pleasant and coconut envelops you
. Sometimes it's pleasant coconut water, then like in Zara's 'White Regal', a touch too synthetic, which I like less, then softened again. This base here, pluffy vanilla (fortunately not too sweet!) with more subtle pleasant incense, I already know (just where from!? Ishq Shuyukh Gold Lattafa? ) and find it VERY suitable for summer with the coconut & iris (& salt), especially because there is still this light fluffy pinch, which clearly gives you those beach bar vibes and is not necessarily the same throughout, but still pleasant. For me (at the moment!) still a somewhat restless fragrance. (But it's a Lattafa, I'm happy to let it settle down after testing it, I hope it becomes more rounded first) Women probably need a little patience with this one. So it could definitely work in temperatures above 30°C. For men who like aquatic fragrances or are looking for coconut and beach vibes, this should be a safe bet. Absolutely not a flop, but also not my 10/10 that I was hoping for (after a few YT performances), as I'm looking for the ultimate coconut summer feeling fragrance (and have now given up the search for women's AND unisex perfumes, because they all become too sweet for me from 30° heat).
Conclusion for all(!) who are looking for coconut: worth a test.

Why does no one mention chocolate in the opening? then scandal, then vanilla/coconut on skin.
