The slightly more pleasant Instant Crush
Instant Crush was my first fragrance from Mancera.
Back then, it wasn't my DNA at all, which is why I sold it straight away.
I now find DNA much more interesting and when I was looking for a dupe, I ended up with Afkaar.
Because Afkaar is very reminiscent of Instant Crush.
Unfortunately, I no longer own the original to be able to compare them directly.
What I can remember is that the Mancera was slightly more floral and therefore more feminine (although also unisex) and that the saffron in the fragrance reminds me more of a doctor's office than it does with Lattafa.
Otherwise, Lattafa has done a really good job here, a really very good dupe.
Right from the start you get the full load of sweet saffron as you know it from the BR540 or the Instant Crush.
Many compare this sweetness to cotton candy.
A little synthetic in the first 1-2 minutes, but that goes away quickly.
It's a bit like a doctor's surgery, but fortunately not as much as the Mancera.
In the DD I perceive a sweet rose, not quite realistic, yet present and very pleasant.
I also perceive a fruity vibe.
Hard to explain, there are probably no fruity notes in Afkaar either, but something reminds me of orange or mandarin, could just be imagination, but that's what I perceive.
Towards the end, the fragrance becomes a little warmer and creamier.
Saffron, rose and this inexplicably fruity background remain present until the end.
The performance is quite ok.
The longevity on my skin was around 8.5 hours.
After 9 hours, the fragrance was still there, but it was so faint that I could barely detect it myself.
The radiance is also decent.
Not a beast now, but you notice it well in the first few hours and you are also noticed.
My conclusion : A great unisex fragrance that you can wear almost all year round and for almost any occasion.
For lovers of saffron a la BR540 and co. this is a fragrance they should take a closer look at.
For me, it's even more pleasant than the original and that's why I'll be buying a bottle sooner or later
Unfortunately very hard to get.
I don't know if it's been discontinued or why it's been nowhere to be found for months? No idea, but if it will be available sooner or later, I can only recommend it.
