The best release from the Nishane X Collection: the better, fresher and more special Nishane Ani!
I bought myself some of the X-Collection Nishane fragrances for the release; the Wulong Cha X, the Hacivat X and the Ani X. The latter was in my view the best release from the anniversary series! But why?

- Everyone from the fragrance community has probably come across the Nishane Ani at some point, one of the best vanilla fragrances ever. With the Ani X Nishane has retained the basic DNA to 90% and has spiced up the fragrance in places where it makes sense from my point of view: in the top note and only to parts in the drydown

- To be specific, you have a cool honeydew melon note attached together with citrus and light aquatic, so that the heavy Nishane Ani fragrance - which was primarily usable on colder days - has become an all-rounder. Of course, due to the strong vanilla note not recommended for hot summer days, but you can now wear the fragrance at higher temperatures

- After the fresh blast at the beginning slowly gives way, follows the beautiful vanilla base, for which Nishane Ani is also known. But even here a slightly fresher take has been taken by adding apple and lavender, although I still perceive the melon in the background

Overall, a really great and beautiful fragrance that is no longer as linear and "heavy" as before, but has gained complexity and diversity. Definitely recommended for vanilla lovers who also appreciate a fresh kick!

Risen from Ruins
I had already made a brief statement about the beautiful fragrance of Ani X, but felt called to write another review after I wore the fragrance for several days and researched on the website of Nishane, what the perfumer wants to say with the fragrance.
Ani is the name of an ancient ruined city. In the first millennium it was the capital of Armenia, was later conquered first by the Byzantine, then by the Ottoman Empire and today lies as an abandoned ruined city on Turkish territory on the border with Armenia. A ruined border town, then, that belonged at one time to one side and then to the other.
Nishane launched Ani in 2019 under the slogan "no boundaries", with the aim of "overcoming emotional boundaries between people.... Like the original Ani, ANI X aims to break boundaries and inspire wearers to create their own empires from the ruins." At least that's what the website says. Wow What an interesting story. I love it!
Boundaries I do not break when I wear the fragrance, but I am perceived and addressed to the fragrance.
Unlike the original scent, with the Ani X I get juicy citrus notes at first, entwined with a velvety, slightly sweet honeydew melon. Pepper and cardamom I do not perceive in the top note. Slowly, floral notes join in: Lavender (not pungent!) and a gentle rose. It remains slightly fresh with the apple note, I do not smell currant and the patchouli also remains discreetly in the background. And then it comes: the beautiful, majestic, but also a little melancholic vanilla, which already fascinated me so much in the original fragrance: lush and sweet, it envelops the creation like a warm veil of mist. In the fade, an amber sandalwood base underpins the vanilla and gives the fragrance so long-lasting intensity and depth.
Ani X should have tested everyone who loves vanilla fragrances.

Sour honeydew melon with cheap Turkish perfume vibes
This fragrance was recommended to me as I'm currently really into skin-pleasing "human fabric softener" scents. That's why I got hold of a sample in the souk to see what it was all about. It's already a very expensive drop, so be sure to test it first! Please! This fragrance is absolutely not a blind buy.

After I received it, I tested it directly on my skin for two days, and... Well. I can really only give it a "well". I was hoping for a lot, so I didn't want to completely trust my first experience.

I grew up in rather poorer circumstances in my childhood. German mother, Turkish father. The context is important. When I sprayed this perfume on the back of my hand for the first time (back of the hand is my to-go place because you can waft it, better opinion on sillage), memories from the past hit me straight away. Memories of cheap perfume because we couldn't afford it in either family. All my relatives on my father's side smelled exactly the same, just like the cheap fragrances aimed at women that you often got in the Turkish grocery store next to the checkout. The ones for guys only ever smelled like One Million, some more awful than others. The counterpart to the German drugstore fragrances, so to speak. Everyone in my mother's side of the family always smelled of Jaguar and Axe fragrances.

And unfortunately, that is exactly what this fragrance embodies, even if it does smell more valuable and pleasant overall. This fragrance initially smells intensely of tart apple, with a strong honeydew melon in the sillage. A real headache at first, almost poisonous green fruity.

After ~30 minutes, woody sweet notes come through very closely, while the sillage changes from pure honeydew melon to honeydew melon paired with an aquatic contrast. A few minutes later, pepper comes through on the skin, it becomes somewhat drier on the nose overall, with absolutely no trace of vanilla or any other note.

1 hour - Sillage becomes warmer. A very soft, pleasant vanilla, smiling at you from afar, paired with the melon that still jumps right into the picture. The woody notes have somehow disappeared again. Aquatic nuances continue, it becomes more floral, a little more tart.

As the fragrance progresses, it remains tangy, fruity and melony, with a slight vanilla in the sillage, it becomes much softer, calmer and more floral. And that's where it stays.

Nothing changes here over the hours, it just gets weaker and weaker, but you can perceive musk when you breathe in VERY DEEP, up close. After about 8 hours it ends and is almost imperceptible. Not a fragrance that stays on you overnight.

For me, absolutely not a fragrance I would ever wear, although I am a gourmand and above all a vanilla fan through and through. Vanilla is more of a sham here and hides far away in the background. For me, it's more like pure honeydew melon, slightly tangy from the bergamot and green apple, with a brief high of woody-vanilla notes. Unisex, but tending more towards the female sex.

Fresher and fruitier than its older brother
The Ani X has like the original Ani a citrus therefore coming vanilla.
In addition, the fragrance but again a corner fresher and especially fruity.
The honeydew melon provides here for the delicious fruity twist and the aquatic notes for the extra kick freshness. In addition, the fragrance has a very subtle and soft spice. A really soft and pleasing cardamom used.

In the further course of the fragrance, I think it becomes a little sweeter and the vanilla comes through more, while the freshness recedes somewhat without, however, being completely lost.
Especially beautiful I feel the aforementioned honeydew melon, which was really well processed. Of course, especially the fruity notes are always processed synthetically, but there are fragrances in which it comes across despite this natural.
The Ani X is one of them.
The honeydew melon really seems quite natural, delicious and pleasant.

The performance of the fragrance is really good.

But which Ani do I now find better?
I tend despite the praising words to the older brother, the normal Ani.
Would still rate both fragrances with an 8.

Tests the fragrance gladly times from.
The Ani X will think times many people as really great.

The golden autumn!
First of all, this is my first review and that this Ani X applies I would not have thought myself.
Anyway, I want to share my feelings with you.
This afternoon I was still thinking about what I want to wear for a fragrance, because I will be on the road. I decided after looking through my AF - list very quickly for Ani X.
Sprayed this generously on and knew immediately, the fragrance fits today very well, it has 23 degrees the autumn sun shines from heaven and the citrus prelude of bergamot and lemon brings back the summer mood.
I got into the convertible and drove off, roof down - you have to savor the beautiful, warm days again. When I drove so there, Lana del Ray gave the song Cochella to the best and the sun warmed my face and the slightly cool wind blew some strands of hair in the face also came again and again this smoothe, slightly sweet scent of honeydew melon in my nose. This bliss that drove through my body and conjured up a smile on my face was simply indescribable. The scent is now for me the epitome of "golden autumn" and fits perfectly into this season. I now enjoy the wonderful DD of honeydew melon and vanilla that caress me so finely with a smile on my face.

Note: My husband does not particularly like Ani X, I since today but even more :)
Thanks for reading :)

Close to original but more versatile. Bright lemon citrusy tone make Ani X more friendly and easier to use than the OG. Love it

I like this, it's different enough from Ani to be its own I think and is a bit more masculine than the original.

Smells like Ani without the spices. Opens w/ a neat melon note, base has OG Ani's vanilla + musk/cashmere wood. Unisex, suitable for summer.
