Is it worth it and did I need it + can I recommend it?

Short answer = no!

(Actually, you can leave me a cup now and leave the review, since you already have the answer. For those who want to stay, I'll explain it to them or / and I'll give you 1, 2 ways of thinking as to why I think the way I think!)

The whole ADG is a true classic and probably everyone knows the smell of one of the series (at least).

Problem number 1: - Flanker madness -

Many are too similar, nothing new and hardly any that really stand out, except for the Acqua di Giò Profumo Parfum
Problem number 2: - the price -

We are talking about a premium designer here and in this area their prices are also premium, unfortunately.

Problem number 3: - high quality -

The fact that companies are fixated on achieving maximum sales is nothing new to me (as a businessman, among others) and is also understandable somewhere. If x fragrances have a similar structure and a similar performance and a similar "relatively modest composition" then I don't know whether I need this...

All are fresh, aquatic, citrusy and some have more, smoky, some are woodier, others are more floral, like this one, but ultimately many are very very similar. Know one, know them all!

After testing Acqua di Giò Profondo (2020) Eau de Parfum some time ago, which didn't go down particularly well with me, my expectations for the new edition of Acqua di Giò Profondo Parfum were not particularly high. And rightly so, because instead of immersing myself in a beautiful ocean, I fell into the toilet with this fragrance (fortunately free of charge, thanks to the sample).

The problem is the same as with many other designer fragrances. Synthetics and unkindness dominate the business and I wonder what the point of such a new release is if you don't dare to try anything new. In a previous statement, I picked up the expression "superfluous flanker" from a previous speaker and that pretty much sums it up. While Acqua di Giò Profumo Parfum delights people and even remains in the top ten men's fragrances (because it combines freshness and spice in an unconventional way instead of being citrus-fresh), Acqua di Giò Profondo Parfum can only dream of being in the top 100.

To summarize the fragrance experience in a nutshell: Initially alcoholic, citric freshness and later on 0815 synthetic sludge underlaid with floral notes. I don't want to waste any more words on such a boring fragrance, so I'll keep it short.
The performance is also rather weak for a "perfume". Although the fragrance lasts about four hours with four sprays in the self-perception, good eau de toilette and mediocre eau de parfum fragrances also manage this.

The bottle is probably the best thing about the whole fragrance and suits a maritime scent. It's just a shame that the contents are not in the same league.

The price is definitely too high for this fragrance DNA. you can't get 100ml for less than 100 euros. The money can be better invested.

I can only advise against buying it, because even in-house there are better alternatives such as Acqua di Giò Profumo Parfum and if you look at other manufacturers, the list of better alternatives becomes all the longer, such as Oud Minérale.

Not a blind buy candidate

I ordered the fragrance blind from Armani, luckily I like it but it's not a blind buy candidate.

What I like is the bottle with the gradient of the color fits in well with the others, also that the bottle has a magnetic closure is great even a quite strong magnet packaging is typical Armani, what I have to criticize is that Armani has shortened the content from 125 to 100 ml in alone reissued bottles but the price remains the same as then with the perfume from 2023
The fragrance is also solid in terms of durability and silage at about the same level as Profondo, but is an absolute summer or spring fragrance.

At the beginning, the fragrance is definitely like the typical Profumo, slightly temporal, but the maritime note is definitely more dominant, then it becomes floral, the floral note, especially the lavender and the strawflower are dominant from the violet is very easy to perceive in the background. However, it remains very linear from the heart note onwards.
My recommendation is definitely not to test the fragrance on a strip but rather on the skin as it is very dependent on the skin chemistry.

Not too bad for an Armani

I am lucky to have a sample, this came from Armani directly and I tried it a bit already in the morning, now I will give you my opinion.

I think Armani are in a bit of a creative break, because in the men´s line they have nothing worth purchasing.
- I liked very much the Essenza, and I believe they should bring that back to the market, but not watered down.
- I sprayed from this tiny sample in the morning on my wrists and one single spray, lasted around 6 hours with 2 hours of good projection.
- It reminds me a bit of Profumo, without the mineral incensy note

What does it remind of? Armani Profumo
Longevity / Silage: Projects for about 2 hours, then skin scent for + 7hr.
Versatility: A very versatile scent to wear all the time
Seasons: Summer mostly, with a nice t-shirt somewhere in a warm country.

Score: 8 / 10 – I like it, but it seems to be another copy paste flanker which makes me wonder why discontinue Profumo for this.

I'm happy that I've finally found a Acqua di Giò that I love, but I'm sorry to say, it's probably the one I love, because it's the one that's the least Acqua di Giò of the line. Bought it right after testing it.

First it starts as a really obvious and natural mandarin + an oceanic/salty feel. A couple minutes after, a green, floral, sweet, and slightly powdery note starts to appear. It kinda gives me "Greener Invictus Aqua / Invictus Parfum" vibes at this point, but it's not an obvious similarity, just this citric, marine and sweet tone.

It's deep, slightly playful, may give some male shower gel energy at some points, but It will get deeper and richer. it's really well done and it's a fun one to smell.

After a couple hours, it loses a bit of this citric + bright florals part, and it becomes a little bit darker, earthy... Kind of salty honeyed flowers, if that makes sense? Reminds me of Tom Ford Costa Azzura Parfum here.

Longevity is good, but it's true that this is far from the EdP sillage.

I did not have the issues people mentioned of it being different on my skin. Guess I got lucky with my skin chemistry here?

Versatility wise, all seasons except maybe winter for me. Also I would avoid more than 3 sprays in a really hot summer day.

Bottle is beautiful, specially when it gets some light through it, but it's a fingerprint magnet.
