A descent into mythical, dark depths
Hach Black Orchid. I still remember very well that I really wanted a Tom Ford fragrance, liked the scents and thought to myself: "You're buying this thing now. Blind buy? never mind, expensive? Never mind!" :D

I've owned it for quite a while now and literally guard it like the Holy Grail in person. I really only use it on special occasions.

Let's spray this piece of jewelry on. Uhh ok, I smell floral notes, dark, mysterious. Earthy, perhaps slightly animalic notes, that could be the truffle. At least that's how I remember truffles from my cooking training back in the day. A slight sweetness can be detected. However, the notes don't seem out of place, the fragrance certainly doesn't take you by the hand, an invitation into the unknown depths of the night.

In the drydown, the fragrance becomes warmer, more comforting and pleasurable. The floral notes of the opening remain, wood joins in, inviting you to linger. Very light smoky notes frame the mythical image that the fragrance creates here.

Towards the end, the fragrance ends on a beautifully woody, almost musky note.

Thank you Black Orchid for this journey. I would love to take part again! :D

Christmas full on the twelve !!!
Phew, where do I start. I let myself be hyped by some perfume youtubers about the fragrance back then and thought it had to move in with me. I must be a hype victim xD

Let's spray the fragrance on. Oh yes, the fragrance really hits the spot! I smell cinnamon, lots and lots of cinnamon. It's also very sweet, almost a little sticky. It's like walking through a Christmas market. The only thing missing is a cup of mulled wine :D

The scent immediately starts to take over the room. The sweetness is joined by a somewhat "boozy" note, but I can't quite put my finger on what it reminds me of. Rum? Apple cider? There's something synthetic behind it. Personally, I don't detect any myrrh or wood, but if I do, it's all suppressed or overwhelmed by this extreme cinnamon-sweet-alcohol combo.

The fragrance projects so extremely that it is almost somehow unpleasant. It is definitely difficult and somehow really, really heavy. The cinnamon/"booze" note is definitely present throughout the entire fragrance and hardly gives the fragrance any air to "breathe".

All in all, the fragrance leaves me somewhat perplexed. It's not bad in itself and definitely something for winter, but it's not really mine. But if you like extremely sweet stuff, you'll probably like it.

One night around a campfire in the deepest jungle
First of all, thanks to VeritasAUT for the chance to test :) I was already "forewarned" that I was dealing with a special fragrance here.

I spray on the fragrance. At first, hui ui ui, it almost takes my breath away! The fragrance really gets going, it definitely takes no prisoners, it goes full throttle!
I smell wood, charred wood and earth, smoke, yes, lots of smoke. Almost reminds me of a good Islay single malt whisky :D
The scent is heavy, dark, resinous. Moss, oud and noble resin resonate. Then there's this wonderful chocolate note. I love that, it almost reminds me of my personal guilty pleasure chocolate note a la "Russian Oud II | Areej Le Doré"

It becomes a little tamer in the drydown. The smoky note becomes more pleasing, rather cold smoke. Leather, tobacco and a slight tea note join in. I personally don't detect any sweetness.
But it remains dark, tart and somehow mystical.

In conclusion, this tiger has really sharp claws. I like it !

Breeze, breeze[...] it's all breeze.
Oh yes, I wanted to like him so much! :(

I spray on. It starts so beautifully. Tobacco, hmmm, cinnamon, incense, floral, maybe cherry, a little rough, but I like it. It wafts in front of me, gets in my nose again and again, hmm simply delicious, it could be something. Pleasant feelings unfold.

...But after a short time, oops, where has it suddenly gone? :O As quickly as it starts, it's gone again (at least for me). No trace, nothing at all. Maybe I got a bad batch, I don't know. I had at least hoped for more staying power.

So I am left with one laughing and one crying eye, thinking of the brief breeze of spicy frugality.

Yet I wanted to like him so much :(
