Summer solstice
Taken to the most beautiful place to linger in the green bay,
Let's drink sour lemonade pressed from bergamot fruit by the Königsbächlein stream.
It is densely overgrown here, the foliage of the trees hangs low,
A sparkle on the waves, sunlight pushing through dense leaves.
The leather saddles rest in the green grass, freshly cut, what a scent,
We lie between stalks, blue sky, caressed by warm summer air.
Currant dessert on a chocolate patch, we feast on it with pleasure,
Happiness in our bellies and eyes, caramel on our lips, a sweet kiss.
Flowing her hair falls in curls, adorned by an iris pale,
My lapel is adorned with a violet, it smells flowery, very, very soft.
Lost musky clouds flit across the blue sky,
The clear, cool water gently sloshes, ripples and undulates.
The sun warms the old cedars, at their feet we lie down,
We smell of caramel, vanilla, as if we had just eaten it.
As the sun sinks lower and lower, the afternoon draws to a close,
It will remain in our memories forever, this day at the turn of summer.
Fin.

With Aqua Regia, I quickly found my second favorite from the K Collection by XerJoff alongside Kemi. As unusual as it is with its fragrance profile, it brings back familiar memories of summer afternoons long gone. The top note starts off very sour and tangy with deep green bergamot and small, dark and very tart currants. Even here, a little of the impending sweetness of caramel shimmers through, which then presents itself in its entirety after a few minutes and beds itself on intensely chocolaty patchouli. However, the fragrance does not drift into a full-bodied gourmand, but only uses the right amount of sweet gourmand notes, which contrast beautifully with the citrusy, sour opening. Slowly, the leather becomes more and more apparent. But here, too, Aqua Regia remains at a very tolerable dosage. Instead, I only detect light leather nuances with a distinctly green touch, mixed with a few delicate, floral accords of iris and violet. As the fragrance progresses, it becomes softer and softer and caramel, vanilla and musk become more and more prominent. The caramel appears slightly burnt from time to time, which in turn adds a little more depth to the composition. All in all, Aqua Regia is a really exciting release that plays a lot with contrasts and a really great transformation.
