L'Homme | Prada" is a fragrance that - if you want to rate it extremely highly - you would describe as timelessly elegant: as a "dumb reach" for moments when you simply don't know what to reach for and want to play it safe (office, job interviews, etc.). Sometimes it's also just good for relieving the nose a little and distancing yourself from strong, nuanced fragrances (e.g. strong rose/oud fragrances etc.).
However, this does not mean that the fragrance is boring in and of itself, but rather that its field of application is really broad in the "clean" environment. But now to
L'Homme in detail:
- Even though the fragrance is linear, I find the scent slightly fresher at the beginning, which is probably produced by the opening of a subtle vetiver
- However, the main protagonist - iris - comes into play very quickly and unfolds with the violet. The iris lends the fragrance a creamy and powdery texture, while the violet exudes a really subtle florality and gives the fragrance an elegant depth.
- in the drydown, the warm and elegant woods create a certain masculine strength that, in harmony with the iris, produce a pleasant aura.
- The H/S is in the good middle range, making it ideal for formal occasions or for everyday use.
Overall, a great, easy-to-understand fragrance that simply suits every situation and does not offend. It smells clean and doesn't overwhelm its surroundings; unfortunately, it didn't make it into my collection because I love rough edges.
