Mare biting
Monday, 8:32 am. I took a deep breath in and out before making my way through the building to my office.

"Ha, are you there yet too?" remarked Hannah, who could probably hear my heels clicking. Yes, I'm not a morning person. More of a night owl. And I can concentrate best when everyone has already gone home.

"It's getting later every day, we have TWO - ZWAHAIII after half past nine! I've been here since 6:30," said Jessi, the snappiest of all in the department. Yeah, good for you, I thought silently.
She stood in my doorway with her arms crossed while I hung up my coat and switched on the PC. Her eyes watched my every move watchfully.
"Have you got a new handbag again?" she asked without bothering to hide her resentment. Nevertheless, she couldn't help but tap the bag with her index finger. She identified leather and rolled her eyes as if it were an infectious foreign body. "I know your perfume from somewhere too..."

Sometimes it's better to think for yourself instead of reacting to stupid gossip. It saves pointless conflicts and at some point even the loudest crow loses the desire to pick on a slick, taciturn wall. It's no fun anymore. Smile nicely and look stupid. And I stopped commenting on my perfume a long time ago. I like to change my fragrances, but I always make sure that I don't offer a target here either. Grumbling about nausea, headaches or feigning breathlessness didn't exactly contribute to a better working atmosphere.
It may be a bit boring for my nose at times, but fresh fragrances that are close to the skin and low in sillage are relatively non-confrontational in everyday office life. I have painfully learned to live out my penchant for strong, oriental fragrances better at home.

My sillage was quickly forgotten when the new colleague was introduced. The bunch of chickens seemed to be completely beside themselves at the sight of him. Apart from the neatly fitted suit and his athletic build, he was really nice to look at. Almost a waste for the office. The ladies seemed to be having a real competition to see who could show him around the premises first and explain all the important things. When he declined the fourth coffee with thanks, it didn't stop Jessi and Antonia from placing another one in front of him, their eyes twinkling.
The next few days were a real showcase. Dressed up like they hadn't been for a long time and always smiling, the overzealous colleagues forced their willingness to help on poor Joshua. Somehow I felt sorry for him and secretly hoped that his knowledge of human nature would shine brighter than the golden costume jewelry of the three attention-seeking women.

Things got interesting, however, when Jessi casually asked me about the most popular women's fragrance. She was a bad actress. I gave her the information about the highest sales figures in the women's fragrance segment: La Vie est Belle L'Eau de Parfum. A short time later, Hannah sneaked into my office and asked for a modern fragrance that would suit her. Lady Gaga appeared in my mind's eye and so I recommended the perfume that the singer had advertised: Voce Viva Eau de Parfum. When Antonia came up with the same idea and was looking for a floral inspiration, I didn't want to be directly mean, but subtly pointed her out of my door with My Way - away.

And then the next day, disaster struck. Handsome Joshua locked himself in his office, presumably wanting to work undisturbed. The three, now extremely fragrant graces pranced up and down the corridor, peering at his still locked door. Shortly before lunchtime, their impatience began to blossom creatively. One placed a sparkling lemonade at Joshua's place in the kitchen, the next decorated a lovely jasmine bush next to the drinking glass and the third wiped the remaining table surface with a damp 4711 cloth.

They held their breath as they heard his door open. As if on cue, they reached into their handbags and sprayed themselves from head to toe with their new fragrances in no time at all.
Joshua, just about to enter "Mahlz..." and stopped in the doorway, turned around once and tried to enter again. His eyes were the size of saucers. It was as if he had run into an invisible wall. Gasping, he said, "It's... it's..."

"What is it?" cried Jessi, genuinely worried, almost hysterical.

"It's a paradox," were his last words before he simply fell over backwards like a log.

And for those who are now asking who is to blame for the whole misery, I can clearly say: Prada.
No, the fragrance itself is not bad. But you get the feeling you already know it. It seems to me like a mix of the fragrances mentioned above, which are all pleasing and wearable but together do not bring any new insights to light. The only way I can describe it is as follows: citrus top notes with jasmine and orange blossom create a sweet combination that has lost its individuality.

The last perfume
I have fond and bad memories of this perfume...

This "clean" note fascinated me, almost smells like freshly washed laundry. (Which I love very much) I find the flowers somewhat discreet, but very well "placed" :D

It is a very pleasant fragrance that is very feminine. Fits best on dates, so for a special occasion. Generally on summer evenings, when you are walking through the city or near a shore, while you look into the eyes of the love of your life and plan the future with her...

This was the last perfume I gave my girlfriend before she left me for someone else a few days later.

I still have this perfume in my nose to this day and every time I smell it, I always think it was her who walked past.

Amarige, is that you?
I used to wear a lot of Prada, but in recent years I haven't worn anything apart from the Infusion range. So I was all the more excited about Paradoxe. There is also an Intense version. created in 2022 by Nadège Le Garlantezec, Antoine Maisondieu and Shyamala Maisondieu.
After the first spray, bam déjà vu. After a quick look at the notes, confirmation => very similar to Amarige by Givency. Same vibe and since Amarige was released in 1991, you don't have to think twice about who copied from whom. The retro vibe seems to be in demand at the moment, for nostalgic reasons I recently bought Amarige again after more than 20 years, I don't need two almost identical fragrances, especially as I find Amarige's bottle more beautiful. There is also a little Shalimar. Or Armani My Way. Or Born in Roma. You see, no groundbreaking innovation here.
Not a shy fragrance either, an intense, gourmand fall and winter fragrance for women over 30. An initially fruity, then beguiling, floral fragrance.
Gourmand in the drydown, but not too heavy or overwhelming.
Definitely a woman's fragrance. You have to like jasmine and vanilla. Juicy sweet fruits and flowers; a suitable companion for the romantic cuddle time, some festive decadence, cold and wet outside and warm punch and dimmed lights inside. Vanilla, ambergris and jasmine cannot be denied a certain commercial character. This fragrance is by no means an office or travel fragrance and can trigger migraines. The sillage is above average and so is the longevity.
Feminine, floral, powdery, sweet and intense.
For many, the fragrance will evoke "I've smelled it before", it is not unique or one-of-a-kind, which would have been the case if pear had been made more prominent. You have to be very careful and not overdose here. I would have liked to have smelled old Paradoxe from 1983 by Pierre Cardin, it is supposed to be chypre-like and floral with pepper and moss.
Paradoxe 2022 is by no means shy, discreet or suitable for the office. Mainstream going out fragrance.
If I hadn't bought Amarige, Paradoxe would be a candidate for purchase.

regress is progress
it's the same with prada paradoxe.

it has a similar dna as many many other perfumes, but honestly iss the hammer.
same and yet so wonderfully different.

if i'm honest, i love this perfume. it's the only sweet perfume that i'm allowed to wear without my mother beating me to the ground because of its obtrusiveness.
if i'm honest, i just can't understand the hate for this. it smells good and belongs to the mainstream, probably that's what bothers the fine baccarat rouge idolizing perfume critics nose of some users here probably.

it's inexplicable, but the scent just smells like sexiness to me. like emily strawberry when she's out of puberty lol. well, definitely fitting for this target group (to which i count myself as an almost twenty year old)

as a not-so-long former smoker, i must also admit that the perfume mixes well with cigarette scent. i can't explain it exactly, but it's just really really delicious.

what exactly is paradoxical about it? well, no idea, I'm still trying to figure out.
probably the fact that the scent is so incredibly horny and cheap at the same time.
and I do not mean cheap in the sense of money.

it is simply a perfume that balances on the thin line between sexiness and trashiness on high heels, but that's what makes it. on such I stand now times with perfumes, my friend thank god also.

in any case, the perfume is definitely a compliment catcher and perfect for going out.

Summer wing
...carefree, sweet and free!
Like summer 99 - Paradoxe smells young and cheerful without being childish.
White creamy blossoms with a citrusy freshness are the prelude, one immediately thinks of a warm summer breeze full of spices. The air is hot and shimmering.
Orange blossom takes vanilla by the hand and makes a silk bed in the cornfield, feeling good without getting tired.
This fragrance puts you in a good mood, lasts like a bomb, has a delicate floral sillage and gives you that certain something, like a thin summer dress that caresses me in the August wind.

Very disappointed: it smells cheap and totally synthetic with a pungent artificial pear note.
This scent doesn't justify its high price.

For me the top and heart combo smell like Moschino Toy 2 Bubblegum, however Paradoxe lasts longer and dries down into a warm vanilla.

This is a sharp synthetic headache inducer for me. The opening is not that bad but I can't stand after a while.
