If Lotus Biscoff cookie had a baby with chai latte
I recently received the manufacturer's sample of Rima XI as a gift from a perfumer. Until then, I was not familiar with this house or any of its perfumes. After reading through the fragrance composition, I have to admit that the scent didn't make me want to test it too much. I imagined something masculine, spicy and tart. Nevertheless, I gave the fragrance a well-deserved chance and didn't let the fragrance pyramid put me off, sprayed a spritz (with my eyes closed and minimal fear) on my wrist and lo and behold...
...what a dream! Yes, it's a spicy fragrance, but it's combined with such a beautiful softness and creaminess that I've never smelled in a fragrance before. It's not a harsh spiciness, but a very gentle spiciness. My mother is probably the most sensitive soul on the planet when it comes to perfume. I hold my arm out to her and say: "Mom, smell this" and she replies: "Oooooh, that's very pleasant! Somehow different".
The first thing that comes to both of our minds is "speculoos spice mix". But, the creamy and very smooth version. The image of a Lotus Biscoff cookie dipped in warm milk comes to mind. Or if Lotus Biscoff Biscuit had a baby with chai latte. Somehow the scent smells edible, but softly creamy at the same time. Although edible, spicy and gourmand, at no point is it too much, too sweet or even a headache candidate. On the contrary, it is cuddly, warm, spicy, yet gentle and simply a treat.
For me personally, the fragrance progression is relatively linear. Cardamom, pepper, cinnamon, jasmine, nutmeg, vanilla, sandalwood and very subtle saffron are equally perceptible to me. This blend was excellently mixed. The ingredients do not compete with each other at any time, but rather underline and support each other. It is a completely harmonious combination. For the colder days, this great fragrance is definitely at the top of my wish list.
