Lekker ruiken
... translated from Dutch means "smells good" or "smells good" and is also the name of a small but fine perfumery in the tranquil Dutch town of Venlo - one of the few foreign destinations that can be reached with the Germany ticket.
In the centrally located perfumery (with brands such as Xerjoff, Tauer, Parfums de Marly and many more) there is a sales shelf at the back with some bargains - a few months ago there was a 50% discount on two or three different Carner fragrances. These included the D600, which won me over on the spot and I was allowed to take it home with me.
The decisive factor was this wonderful spicy-powdery opening, in which the iris is quite prominent and releases minimal citrus and slightly licorice nuances. This tart leg note makes the D600 somewhat more masculine than many other fragrances with a powdery impact, especially at the beginning. Shortly afterwards, the EdP unfolds a little more freely and freshly, but still with a beautiful powdery base.
Two or three hours later, the vanilla comes back, not oversweetened and relatively subtle, and with a dash of vetiver including some cedar, it underlines the claim to be worn in spring or in golden October. Simply excellent when iris and vanilla merge congenially in the drydown.
Overall, I find D600 to be an extremely pleasant and high-quality powder fragrance, which, as already mentioned, is quite masculine, clean, somewhat cool and calming, especially due to the spicy to slightly herbaceous opening that goes into licorice, but is also accessible to women It could be said that D600 is an alternative for those who like the powderiness of Dior Homme, for example, but find the lipstick note or slight sweetness off-putting.
For me, this Carner EdP is definitely a successful statement on the subject of "lekker ruiker" ;-)
