Eat warm lemon cake and stroke your pets
I've wanted to write a review of Yellow Lemon Tree for so long. However, I thought long and hard about whether my train of thought wasn't too abstruse.

I got the perfume from a sympathetic EssenceVitae at the beginning of 2024. It was still in its original packaging and my most expensive blind purchase to date. It is no longer produced and this is even the extrait.
I really wanted it because of the castoreum and even 2x civet.

I opened the protective plastic foil in awe. The packaging is printed in retro style and the bottle is well secured in the foam rubber.
Sniffing the bottle, I first recognized something lemony. Not a tangy citrus, in that sense. I deliberately ignored the fragrance pyramid for this perfume.

On the skin, it reminds me of warm lemon cake. But not with butter, more like a fluffy, soft sponge roulade filled with lemon cream.
The Animalik fragrance comes to me quite quickly. It can be described as a cuddly, cozy feeling in a scent.
Like when you stroke your pet.
Since hardly anyone has a beaver in front of their house at the moment, where should you sniff this beaver scent from?
There are civets at the zoo. However, admission to Zurich Zoo, for example, has now reached the price segment of a decent perfume. And even at the zoo, the cat's territory is more likely to be covered in other smells than the famous glandular secretion.

So, now...how do I describe the animal part of the yellow lemon tree? (How do they come up with scent names like that? My idea would have been "animalic lemon cake").
So for me it smells like stroking an animal's fur.
Since I have taken in several animals from animal welfare myself, I have a selection of real fur scents on the living specimen:

We can all imagine the smell of a wet dog. Dogs as hunters may also have a noticeable smell. So I can already rule out dogs.

Ferrets are also known for their strong scent. They also have stink glands. Depending on whether you tolerate or hate the bouget. It probably depends on whether the predator has just had a fright.

Rats are very clean rodents. Their fur smells sweet and animal-like. The pink corner in the bedding is a little more ammonia.
Mice, on the other hand, are also little stinkbugs in their fur, sorry little mice...
I find rabbits and guinea pigs to be relatively neutral, especially if they are kept outside. If they are, then they smell of the respective bedding, food pellets or whatever they are munching on. As prey animals, they shouldn't have any noticeable exhalations either.
Chinchilla smells to me like the dusty sand bath they like to take.

Cats, as sneak hunters, are dependent on a coat with a low odor. Have you ever sniffed a cat's head?
I love this scent. Comparable to baby skin. Haha by the way, many (also very dear) cats find it extremely disconcerting to be sniffed by humans on the head/forehead. Watch how confused they react...

Unfortunately, I have to admit that I can't offer you a comparable coat scent right away. It's probably more the odeur in combination with the cuddle hormone when you stroke your beloved pet.

In any case, Yellow Lemon Tree is not a stinker, despite 3x Animalik. I loved smelling him and he is very much appreciated by his new lovely owner.
Despite lasting only 2 hours on my skin, it was an experience and a lovely memory for me.
My own animalism is already present enough for me. One of the reasons why I am looking for the right perfume for me.
That's why the animalic lemon cake was allowed to move on.

Cheering plum in burnt caramel and good soap
I bought Réjouissance (translated as jubilation) because of the following, different description and notes:
Fruity, sweet, warm spicy, vanilla.
The fragrance pyramid particularly appealed to me because of the spicy notes and plum.
Head: spicy notes, saffron
Heart: plum, lily
Base: date, vanilla

I am split on saffron and lily smells from heavenly to wee-wee

I've been looking for THE plum fragrance for me for a long time.
My Plum in Cognac from scents of wood is hopefully still "maturing" (for the story, see statement).
I have now purchased this Jubel relatively cheaply and am quite surprised by the fragrance in real life.

For me, Réjouissance is a baked plum in slightly burnt caramel and good soap.
I could imagine a plum pie served by a freshly showered and creamed rendezvous. A pack of cigarettes lies open next to the drink, a sweet and sour fruit juice cocktail without alcohol.

I skim over the supposed lime in the top note. The saffron and the date I skillfully sniff over. I agree with the spicy and warm plum. I would assign the tobacco-smoky burnt "caramel" to ambergris. The good soap would then be lily?

All in all, a nice (not too sweet, not heavily gourmand) fragrance at a good price.
H/S ok for this.

What does Sharry baby orchid smell like?
Actually, I just wanted to make a brief statement about "The Silk".
But when I saw the fragrance pyramid, my curiosity got the better of me.
What does Sharry Baby Orchid smell like?
Like chocolate...What?!
Now I sniff more intensively...could I imagine something chocolatey? Maybe not dark but white?
Not a chocolate bar but powder for hot chocolate milk?
Not cocoa powder but cocoa butter? Or simply the cocoa fruit, not yet further processed?
Hmm could be...let your imagination run wild...

The Silk is one of my first perfumes.
I didn't know EssenceVitae back then. So I went to a perfumery and asked for "advice". I actually wanted something with pineapple or melon.
But the nice expert thought I was just the type for this one delicate aroma. Pineapple and melon wrapped in silk, so to speak.

Without the fragrance pyramid, I could imagine everything and nothing in this fragrance anyway.
Exactly THAT is what makes the Silk so appealing.
Even today, the most I would identify is rose and musk. The fragrance notes listed astonish me. Would never have thought of it, but I wouldn't say no to any of them either.

You can simply imagine whatever your imagination allows.
Descriptions such as powdery, floral, fruity, creamy, sweet, woody, ambery, musky, ozonic, aquatic, fresh, vanilla, delicately spicy.
Yes, I can confirm everything.
However, I find it linear, but long-lasting for such a delicate fragrance...
The sillage surrounds me at a personal social distance and you can still smell the fragrance even after a long day at work.
I also notice it in the evening when I return home, still filling the room in the bathroom.
Very good price/performance ratio.

The taste of violets
I really wanted to try L.O.V.E because of the licorice and violets.
I wasn't expecting anything special for the price.
Now I am positively surprised.
Even the delightful, violet metallic-colored OVP and the heavy bottle, with the sprayer / lid in one, are an eye-catcher.
I know violets candied for decoration and in ice cream from Genoa.
You can clearly smell violets! I can almost taste it.
This is joined by linear:
Dry licorice liquorice
Splash of lemon with lemon zest
Fresh and candied fruit
Sweet rose
Almond with shell
Spicy cherry juice
Flowerpower patchouli
Vanilla tea
Woody powdery musk
I don't see the creamy-sweet fragrance as just girly, it also has something eccentric about it.
The notes harmonize and express each other.
H/S top.
L.O.V.E is a fragrance that is rather unrecognizable and has an exciting and high-quality effect.
I think it makes an impression for a low budget.

Wow at a ridiculously low price
Far Away Royale totally flashed me.
I wanted to try it because of the plum, but didn't have high expectations.
I received so much more!
Peppery, oriental, spicy at first. Then comes a beautiful, fruity plum with white flowers and a cozy balsam with vanilla.
Nevertheless, it remains exciting because the notes oscillate and emerge again and again. Tolerably sweet, could even pass as unisex.
The fragrance pyramid above seems far too short to me. Hence the other notes:
Juicy plum
A splash of bergamot
Relaxing neroli
Warm orange blossom
Mystical myrrh
Cinnamon-breathed Peru balsam
It has all the things I love about so many gourmands in Favorable. H/S good average
LOVE
