"The "king of beasts" for the "leather of the leathers""
After what felt like endless days of rain and constant cloud cover, the sun finally managed to break through again today. Probably the perfect time to unleash the Iberian beast and the last fragrance from the Memo Paris Journey Book on myself, Iberian Leather
The first impression is smoky leather in your face. As if the mighty cat of prey were to leap onto your neck and bite hard. You feel like Hercules, who wore the skin of the Nemean lion on his shoulders. While the leather in African Leather Eau de Parfum was incorporated rather subliminally, in this case it is very expressive and potent - fitting for a lion. As the fragrance progresses, it softens a little and becomes less harsh and more spicy with floral undertones. I'm not at all surprised that 87% of the 55 users of the fragrance on EssenceVitae are male, despite its unisex categorization. What surprises me more is the rating of 6.9 points for the fragrance. Apparently, opinions differ greatly and the fragrance seems to be a matter of taste. The most frequent ratings are in the following ranges:
19x 6 points
40x 7 points
21x 8 points
14x 9 points
Even though I personally like the fragrance very much and would have expected a higher average rating, opinions seem to differ greatly. So rather not a blind buy candidate.
The performance does justice to a magnificent lion. You can simply rely on leather fragrances in this respect. Four sprays on my neck and I was able to smell it myself for a full 8 hours, majestically roaring, king of the beasts.
The bottle is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Memo is generally known for its artistic motifs, but this bottle stands out even more. "The "king of beasts" for the "leather of the leathers"" writes the manufacturer and I think it's a great statement. The lion was inspired by the Spanish coat of arms and symbolizes courage, nobility, royalty, strength, splendour and bravery. Aspects that the fragrance reflects with its impressive bottle and powerful DNA.
If you take a closer look at Memo Paris, you will quickly realize that the fragrances are not cheap. ~180 euros for 75ml is not a little, but considering the great fragrance DNA, the mega performance and the outstanding bottle, there is no criticism that speaks against the price.
In the battle of the big cats, the leopard surprisingly wins against the lion this time, because African Leather Eau de Parfum remains my favorite Memo Paris fragrance. Nevertheless, Iberian Leather is definitely worth a try and should be a complete success with men who like powerful and expressive leather fragrances.
