I have to admit, I've been waiting for a long time for this fragrance to come back in stock at Sephora. I spotted it at the beginning of my journey when I was searching for a vanilla scent and when I got the message it had come back, I had to jump on it.
At first, the hinoki wood is overwhelming and a bit displeasing to my nose. Smells woody and powdery. After about 30 minutes, that's when the magic starts. Chocolate starts to rise up partnered with vanilla. It smells like milky chocolate with a hint of darkness and some sugary sweetness. It's not too cloying, not too sweet, but has enough warmth and cozy feelings to it. It's gourmand and delicious to the nose. Gives me a craving for chocolate. The drydown becomes vanilla and musk with remnants of chocolate and woods.
It's a known fragrance on social media for a reason. I feel like it's a scent best suited for winding down and relaxing at the end of a long day. I did like it, but the powdery note in this perfume is what stops it from being a permanent addition to my collection. Dulce also reminds me of another cheap fragrance I've tried recently:
Choco Musk Eau de Parfum. Both are cheap and come from the same family, although Dulce has that added hinoki note that adds more depth to it. For those who need comfort and want to smell sweet without the toothache, this is a nice one!
