the somewhat different iris fragrance
You might think that anyone who releases so many fragrances in such a short space of time and then takes them off the market again is only producing bad things. But that's not the case. Some Zara fragrances are really fantastic.
Of course, not all that glitters is gold, and that's the case with Zara fragrances, but I've had a lot of really good ones under my nose, many of them by Jo Malone.
This also applies to Silent Flowers - Romance d'Iris.
Iris is often not so easy and digestible, unlike Romance d'Iris.
What a great, green-powdery fragrance. Light, cool, airy, cheerful with a really pleasant violet-lily-iris arrangement. A soft, milky (rice) accord and tangy lemon wrap around you like a cocoon first, then the powdery green iris immediately joins in.
Violet and lily are not long in coming either.
Everything harmonizes wonderfully. Musk, heliotrope and vetiver bring calm to the fragrance and dampen the flowers somewhat. It even becomes a little creamy as it progresses.
If I had to make a metaphorical comparison for Romance d'Iris, it would be a white, light, short, playful summer dress with lots of small, delicate embroidered flowers and small green leaves. A little retro, but not stuffy.
I can't fault the longevity and sillage of this fragrance. The violet scent stays around for a long time and is flattering without becoming annoying. However, anyone expecting a very sweet fragrance will be disappointed. It is even harsh and cool at times. Nevertheless, I think it goes very well with a white summer dress. Unlike typical iris fragrances, Romance d'Iris is in no way suffocating or dusty. The powder note tends to play third fiddle here.
Nevertheless, I would recommend a test to any powder lover.
