Yeah, yeah, yeah, guys, I know what you're thinking when I pick titles like that, right? Don Juan de Cat again, with his deviant fantasies. But look, doesn't the name of the fragrance sound like a Greek beauty from ancient times, light and airy jumping through the bright sun? No? Well... let's see what or who Olyssia is. Hmm... according to the description Olyssia is the name of an Italian princess... ahaaaa! A woman after all! I knew it! Well, well? What do you say now? :DD Well, let's look further first.
The name Olyssia was composed of two words, one from Olivia and one from Delicacy. Olivia was chosen based on the olive trees of the region of the ancestors of this princess and Delicacy is supposed to describe the sweet life in this region. The combination of both words results in Olyssia. And it is said that when this princess passes you by, she would awaken your senses, and the light would be dimmed and... WHAT? The light would be dimmed? Uh, what for? So please... This is really the official description of the fragrance and you are bitching to me when I write such things? Tsss...
But: I was right with my gut feeling after all, only with the difference that I had thought of a Greek woman instead of an Italian.
Well, now that that's cleared up, let's get to the description of the fragrance... and NEVER grumble with me again when I write such things or describe various fantasies, mu ha ha ha ha ha :D
The smell:
The fragrance begins very fresh and refreshing with oranges, which smell like a bitter orange peel, but which smell good. There are also slightly sweet (and also slightly sour) tangerines, which are also very nice, but the tangerines are weaker than the oranges. A little bit of orange blossom on top of that, and you have a nice, fresh top note, which is also sparkling.
Later on, one can smell the soft-sweet jasmine quite well, while the citric scents become somewhat weaker, of which the orange blossoms are now the most noticeable.
For a while, the fragrance emits almost exclusively jasmine and orange blossom, until the base of the fragrance becomes a little more floral. This makes the fragrance a bit sultrier, but it still remains beautiful.
From now on, the fragrance doesn't really change anymore, as from now on you can almost only smell the floral notes and orange blossom. The flowers smell sweet and don't get sultry anymore, but stay nice and a little powdery. But the fragrance doesn't offer much variety, but on the whole it smells quite nice.
The Sillage and the durability:
The Sillage is okay for a citrusy fresh scent. Not a bang you could smell for miles, but at least it's not skin deep. The shelf life is six to seven hours, after which it has almost completely disappeared from the skin.
The bottle!
The bottle is puffy and filled with a yellowish scented liquid. On the front, it has a label with a beautiful orange-blossom design next to the name. The cylindrical cap appears to be made of brushed metal and is gilded. A beautiful bottle.
Conclusion:
Soo, first of all: The fragrance starts really wonderfully. It is citric and fresh and therefore smells like great orange fruits. So the scent is quite refreshing in the beginning, especially on warm days. Later it is more flowery and sometimes slightly sultry, but it is not really heavy, so that this fragrance is a spring and summer scent for me.
It may be that it lacks a bit of variety and it really doesn't offer anything new in itself, but it still has a nice scent, so it might be worth a look if you like fresh and citrusy scents as well as flowery-sweet perfumes.
While the beginning is fresh, I would recommend the middle part or even the base for going out, but unfortunately the Sillage doesn't go along with that, as the scent gets weaker quickly and doesn't last very long. Therewith, it remains more a day/office scent, but this is also not bad.
And that's it. That's all I can think of at the moment, because if I think about it any longer, pictures of the Italian princess come to my mind, who is supposed to awaken the senses... and if I talk about certain things, then once again I am to blame for everything, or am I considered the piglet here, right? Bah... :D
