The sweet flowers of the nineties

I was in the tenth or eleventh grade when K. entered our grade. She was a native of the new German states and spoke as she had grown her beak. Her clothes were not special and certainly not expensive, and she was generally not the type that was considered beautiful. But she did not care. She did her thing. Dyed her hair purple and always had a smile for everyone and anything. I liked to try to get in touch with her. All the supposedly cool girls, of course, didn't want to know about her. But I liked her lively, for Baden-Württemberger so completely untypical way, her numerous stories from the time before the turnaround and her immense self-confidence. Because K. didn't care whether the others accepted her or not. She did not want to please. "I don't care about all that," she used to say. (A glance at Serenissima's wonderful commentary explains why. She not only describes the fragrance in a charming way, but also explains the meaning of the name).

K. always smelled of Impulse Mille Fleurs. I'm sure that this Impulse scent should be well known to some perfumers here who are about my age. After gym class, she used it to puff herself from top to bottom. You could always sniff it from a distance when she was around
Of course I don't want to claim that Sylvaine Delacourte's Vanori smells exactly like this Impulse deodorant from the nineties. But there are parallels. And I am sure that almost everyone who loved this deodorant in their youth will also like the very finely composed and somewhat more mature sister Vanori. We have here an elegant floral fragrance with a youthful flair, delicately underscored by vanilla notes. Jasmine, and frangipani in particular, should have a certain preference. Vanori is not a soft touch. These flowers cry out loud "here" and want to be noticed. Hiding is not with this scent. But it is a wonderful flatterer, despite all its opulence and the delicate vanilla makes sure of that. I like such fragrances, even if I don't consider them mine. With me, the floral notes must take a back seat. My school friend K., however, had other preferences.

K. would certainly have liked Vanori very much, too. After we lost sight of each other after school, we met again years later. But our interests were so different back then that unfortunately there was no further meeting.

Many thanks to SchatzSucher, who certainly could have imagined that this modern perfume with its wonderful nineties aura would set my mind on a merry-go-round and send me on a journey once again. I know that. You know me so well by now *wink*

When elves help bees
then something dreamlike like this will come into being.

Grapefruit brings the tender freshness of the morning light.
The elves show the bees the way to the most delicate and beautiful Frangipani and Jasmine flowers,
whose nectar they collect in precisely coordinated quantities
and accompany them back to their honeycombs, which smell very soft in the background.

Right next to it the elves have their home.
The cottages made of creamy smelling sandalwood,
Benzoin resin drips balsamic from small shutters.
The little elf children tease each other with tiny little pepper balls.

The vanilla beans hung up to dry smell persistently.
You harvested them fresh this morning. They could also find a few delicately melting tonka beans, not many yet.

Everything happens in harmony with nature ,
( Styrax makes the scent here simply incredibly soft )
everything is perfectly coordinated,
in absolute harmony.
Every note can be smelled so fresh,
but nothing smells,
nothing disturbs the peace of this imaginative realm.

No one should expect a strong Sillage here,
but a present skin scent,
that blows around you like elves, with good durability.

An absolutely filigree fragrance from another world,
at another time.

Maybe the most beautiful vanilla scent I've ever smelled.

an island of scents - an exit strategy?
The fifth fragrance of the vanilla collection of Sylvaine Delacourte I can't leave out so easily now, because he also has a good portion of charm.
That is why I hope that I will pay tribute to it here. Even if it bores one or the other of my readers.
But fairness dictates that "Vanori" should not simply disappear into nowhere.

"Vanori" abducts us to its own island of scents, which appeals to all the senses.
The bitter grapefruit aroma is refined with pink pepper. The light vanilla, which is already well known, has difficulties asserting itself against this team for a moment.
That's why she gets support from the strong Styrax resin right from the start. This brings warmth and a slight illusion of vanilla scent.
Both together they play successfully against this prelude duo of nevertheless quite own strength.
After feeling my scent, the part is now balanced and ready to welcome the wonderful flowers of Jasmin and Frangipani in a loving embrace.
The powerful scent beauty of jasmine harmonizes extremely well with the enchanting Frangipani scent, which is also not so uncontroversial.
Frangipani carries among other things. the name "West Indian Jasmine"; perhaps therefore, both form such a unique fragrance-train. A little bit "stinkig" they are unfortunately also here - but very little!

This sweet-smelling mixture is now enriched with a good dose of creamy honey: if benzoin were not mixed with resinous, slightly scratchy spices, it would be too much of this almost intoxicating sweetness!
But this resin and especially sandalwood with its typical, always slightly sensual fragrance, lay a balancing foundation.
This makes "Vanori" one of the fragrances that offer a break in its own way.

"Vanori" is supposed to be a maiden name with the meaning "God is my Strength".
A certain strength gives this fragrance in any case: it kidnaps to an island, which is far away from all the stress of everyday life.
"Vanoris' advantage seems to me to be that everyone can set up their own island: new from day to day, and adapted every day to the need. (A beautiful performance!)
I got to know "Vanori" as some kind of guardian angel.
Therefore this fragrance is a helpful and welcome companion for me right now at the beginning of the somewhat gloomier season.

The fine fragrance, which in its delicacy does not last for hours, is worth paying attention to.
Women with a preference for feminine fragrances who want to underline their femininity unobtrusively yet positively will certainly find a suitable partner in "Vanori".

For me, this fragrance is unfortunately the weakest of this collection of five vanilla.
But that doesn't mean that all fairies and good spirits have left him - he also has this elfishness!

Up and away! Into sunny climes! Eat cake with light grapefruit!
Okay, I admit it. The first part of my title comes from the Superman Comics, whereby the saying was actually only worked into these comics by a music-loving Superman Comics employee many years ago, because the title here, which is called in the original "Up, up and away", is actually a song from the US pop group "The 5th Dimension".
Well, but since DonJuanDeCat is known to be on comics, he knew of course that this saying is in Superman, yes, Nerds halt :D

But all right, let's come up with something cooler for you! D
Warmer weather! I bet you all (or at least most) long to get back to summer. Long forgotten is the heat wave, which, for example, had ensured that there was hardly any water left in the sewer systems and stank everywhere like hell after... something that I prefer not to describe in detail. The sleepless nights have long been forgotten, as one could not sleep due to the humid heat. Sticky conditions have long been forgotten, because you have sweated like stupid with every smallest movement. And you want all that again? Of course I am! Whoever asks such stupid questions as I do...! D

Okay okay, summer is... or can be beautiful. If it's not an exaggeration. But I just need that great rhythm with the seasons. A place where it's always summer (or winter) wouldn't be for me. Well, maybe I say that because I like the summer a little bit less than other people at the moment, and because the summer this year wasn't soo great for me, but it really doesn't have to be 30 degrees every day of the year for me! It's too... well, it's too hot D
But for those who want to escape the cool seasons, there is a scent like Vanori here. Because Vanori should radiate sunshine and take you to beautiful, exotic and warm places! To Southeast Asia, for example. Like Thailand, Vietnam, Bali... and such countries, by the way all very recommendable, once you should have seen one of these countries, even if the flight there with about 15-17 hours (and longer...) is a little horrible :D
But now for the scent!

The fragrance:
The fragrance begins with pink pepper and a little vanilla, which together with the grapefruit make an excellent fragrance. The sweetish notes, especially the powdery note of vanilla, ensure that the grapefruit here has a fresh citrus scent, but not a tingling citrus scent and that the whole thing looks more like a pastry. Like one of those loose-fruity fruit tarts or cakes. Like tangerine or orange cakes, for example, but with tasty (and by the way not bitter) grapefruit. Yes, right, once you have the picture of such a cake in front of your eyes, the water doesn't even stop converging in your mouth :DD
Benzoin then makes the whole thing even softer and softer, so that the fragrance appears particularly cuddly and delicate, especially if the fragrance later reminds a little less of cakes and smells more like a soft-sweet-powdery fragrance.
A little later a large part of the sweetness comes from the honey, but this fragrance should not be imagined here as heavy and sticky, but simply as a nice and sweetly fragrant fragrance, which is pleasant in the nose :D
Even later, from the base, I continue to smell sweet notes coming from a mix of amber and honey, but also jasmine and some vanilla. Because of the vanilla, the fragrance remains powdery and soft, and this softness is further enhanced by the benzoin and other resins that cannot be further determined. All in all a very beautiful fragrance, even if it doesn't offer a lot of new things. Well, only that you can smell the honey here (in the middle part) well, without this smell appearing particularly spicy or sticky, but simply beautiful. The very late base smells of vanilla again.

The Sillage and the shelf life:
The Sillage is okay, not particularly strong, but also not weak and thus in the good, average range, where it is good to smell, without leaving a too large fragrance cloud, if you do not spray yourself from top to bottom.
The shelf life with the most fragrances is three to four hours. After that the fragrance smells almost only of vanilla, but this for endless hours :D So the shelf life is laaong!

The bottle:
The bottle is clear and has a rounded, inflated shape. On the front you see a black and white label with a drawing of vanilla flowers (I suppose... :D), which look quite nice. I love such etiquette as this boring puristic etiquette, which simply has the name on it. The lid looks gold-plated and is cylindrical. A nice bottle, neither exceptionally pretty nor ugly.

Soo... according to the description of the scent, I should feel like I've been transferred to warm climes. And yes, that's true to a certain extent. Of course, the fragrance is not one of those citric and sparkling fragrances that give you a feeling of refreshment, but it is warmer. Despite this feeling of exotic places, this does not mean that the scent is a pure summer scent. It is one of those fragrances that are sweet but not overwhelmingly sweet, so that they are well wearable on warm (but not too hot) days, but I think autumn is the right time for such a fragrance.

It is suitable for daytime, but also in the evening and when going out. I thought it was great that he reminded me of tasty cakes in the beginning and only then did he smell more like a perfume. So you can drool a little when the water in your mouth flows together and still smell good afterwards :D

And even if the fragrance is supposed to be unisex, for me it is actually a women's fragrance, due to its sweet, powdery and soft notes, which all smell quite feminine here, like the tender skin of a woman... or a cat :DD
It's worth trying, you ladies might like it just as much as I do.

Well then, I wish everyone a nice evening :)

Summer meadow
I spray on "Vanori" and immediately have the association of a summer meadow. Many fragrant flowers, some intense and sweet. There are also dried stems, a hint of hay with still little green. Then it occurs to me: "Vanori" reminds me of "Summer Hill" by Crabtree & Evelyn. However, I give no guarantee; it's been a very long time since I had "Summer Hill". Still, this scent comes to mind almost immediately. Later, my summer meadow gets something slightly lemony to it and very delicately powdery. A great course has "Vanori" with me not. And vanilla is so little in my nose, that it could also be that I only smell it, because it must be here somewhere after all.

Conclusion: not really a vanilla fragrance and thus the subject is missed. I find "Vanori" quite nice, but I do not have to have it. Since I just remembered again: I had "Summer Hill" pretty quickly given away, because he liked me but constantly bees buzzed around me and wanted to know where I would have hidden because now the delicious flowers.

Addendum: On my T-shirt I perceive delicate peppery vanilla.

09/21:
Meanwhile, I perceive the vanilla from the start well.
