Dancing in the moonlight
"Moonmilk" has become an indispensable companion for me at weekends. This perfume is especially indispensable when dancing. When I apply the fragrance - two spritzes on my neck, one spritz in my hair and another on my wrists - I imagine myself dancing to the pulsating rhythms of the night, surrounded by a mysterious cloud that stands out gently but firmly among the usual scents of masculinity. Before I've even entered the dance club, I can already hear the other dancers saying: "Oha! What a great scent!" It's as if "Moonmilk" tells its own story, a story of elegance and sensuality that permeates the night. Who knows, maybe one day I myself will notice the unique scent of "Moonmilk" on other dancers and offer my congratulations for this sensual choice.
FRAGRANCE
The fragrance opens with a combination of lime and black tea, with the tea contributing only subtly with a hint of bitterness. The lime, on the other hand, provides the most striking note. However, it is by no means too much, as the lemon probably would have been. The mandarin adds a second citrus note here, which adds a great fruity sweetness to the scent of lime.
In the middle, black pepper and cardamom in particular act as counterparts, lending the fragrance an interesting spiciness. The pepper provides a subtle spiciness, while the cardamom adds a warm and exotic note. Tip: To get to know the cardamom note better, I recommend crushing cardamom seeds in a mortar and lightly roasting them in a pan. Then compare the cardamom scent with the moonmilk.
The baseline of the perfume is formed by Mysore-quality sandalwood and leather, although neither component is too overpowering. Above all, you should not be put off by the leather, which can quickly dominate a fragrance. Neither the sandalwood nor the leather push themselves to the fore here, which gives the fragrance its attributed creaminess.
SUSTAINABILITY
The longevity of "Moonmilk" is good to very good. Even the next day, the fragrance is still clearly perceptible, especially in the hair and on clothing. Its longevity makes the fragrance a reliable companion for long nights and special occasions. And whenever you think the fragrance has gone, another cloud comes around the corner.
SILLAGE
The sillage of the fragrance is excellent. The focus is on the fresh lime in combination with the spicy nuances. Excellent! The fragrance literally invites you to take a short, sensual break in the here and now.
Pro tip: Try adding a splash of "Moonmilk" to your table decorations. For example in dried flowers such as roses and thistles, or origami flowers, the fragrance looks particularly good.
FLAKON
The bottle consists of a cuboid glass jar with a square base and a spherical, sand-colored lid. The spray head is made of black, matt plastic and underlines the simplicity and elegance of the glass jar. The lid is presumably intended to be reminiscent of the moon, but I find it a little too large.
CONCLUSION
At €140 for 30 ml, "Moonmilk" definitely belongs to the upper price range of perfumes for me. However, I haven't regretted buying it for a second, because you get a lot: a great fragrance combination that stands for sensuality and elegance, a really long shelf life (which is very important to me personally) and fantastic sillage. If I had to deduct points here, it would be for the slightly too large lid of the bottle. Definitely recommended to buy!
