Watermelon slush at 30 degrees
Wavechild starts with a very clear watermelon - and I mean a VERY clear watermelon. For me, the opening almost has something of "Watermelon Bubblegum" from the chewing gum range.
During the first test, I also had strong "Tennie deodorant vibes" (rather less appealing to my nose). However, this impression no longer occurred during the subsequent tests, and my environment didn't perceive it that way either.
This does not necessarily have to be a negative association. I even liked the bubblegum note somehow.
At the same time, this sweet watermelon also makes you feel like you're sitting at a beach bar: and that usually puts you in a good mood!
The top note is not fresh, I also find it rather oppressive at first due to the
clear synthetics.
Over time, the watermelon develops and becomes softer and softer.
The coconut and cocoa notes become perceptible and from this point on it is a pleasant summer fragrance. If the top note had been less blatant and the transitions a little more finely tuned, I would have been convinced.
As it is, it's a feminine and young watermelon fragrance that goes well in summer, but not for me.
