Paradise of the Immortals
An exclusive luxury fragrance from the famous British perfumer Roja Dove, Elysium In Latin, it is in Greek mythology the Island of the Immortals, which is located in the far west of the Earth’s, surrounded and protected by Oceanus, judges of the immortal and blessed dead are sent so that they may spend an eternal life full of happiness and bliss, hence the name of the fragrance.

The fragrance contains many ingredients mixed with very high professionalism so that one component does not overpower the other.

A very refreshing summer fragrance for men with average performance, its only drawback is relatively high price.

Lean back and enjoy the ride.
I have been wearing EPC for some time and I thought I would share my opinion on this wonderful fragrance.

In general, fragrances like other objects (like cars, bags, jewelry...etc.) are made for different price categories, and at the end of the day they serve a purpose (you can tell the time with a CASIO watch just as you can with a Rolex).

EPC is like a very expensive pair of jeans that doesn't have a groundbreaking design, but looks very high quality and perfect when you wear it. And that's exactly how I find it.

EPC can be worn for any occasion in everyday life, because anyone who comes into contact with EPC will easily notice it but not be disturbed (for me the right sillage for everyday life), because in my opinion EPC is not created to stand out. Spray without much thought and smell fresh, clean, young, delicious, classy.

The fragrance is modern and very pleasant, and from the delicious and fruity top note, through the floral accords in the middle to the sweet woody base, it is perfectly blended. EPC combines these components together masterfully, and that makes it special.

A special fragrance doesn't have to contain meterorite powder and a unicorn musk note to be good. It is enough with the use of good ingredients and the fulfillment of a purpose.

There are many cheaper fragrances that have a similar DNA and smell very good, but EPC just has a different target audience to them.

Thank you :)

No clear edge, but after a tangy start, fruity warmth with unfortunately only a slight aura
I had already tested this fragrance years ago and I am now certain that my bottling at the time was tipped. So here's to a new one!

Roja serves us with a veritable abundance of ingredients, so that only a few clearly stand out. As expected, the citrusy notes dominate the top note, which is quickly overtaken by slightly floral notes and an apple that tends towards sweetness. The base, in turn, contains pretty much every base note you can imagine, each used very discreetly. At most, a slightly peppery spiciness emerges in the drydown. All in all, this creates a fragrant but unspectacular cocktail on my skin, which I would describe as fruity-warm rather than citrusy-fresh, at least after the top note fades quickly.

For a niche fragrance, Elysium is very pleasing and, unlike many others, is unlikely to cause much controversy. The fragrance can be worn on any occasion, if only because it is only likely to elicit compliments from intimate contacts due to its low radiance ;-) For me, price and performance are not in any acceptable relation to each other, as if Roja Dove had deliberately not wanted to offend anyone with his creation. In its own way, Elyxsium is nevertheless very independent and harmonious all round ... but I miss that certain something and, above all, an aura that I would like to be enveloped by in a fragrance of this price range.

And thats it...? Is that what all the hype is about?
Elysion - the island of the blessed in Greek mythology. According to the legends, the heroines and heroes who were loved by the Greek gods and given immortality stayed here. To me, this place sounds legendary, mystical, enchanting, mysterious... the fragrance of the same name by Roja Parfums seemed just as mystical to me.

It is no understatement to say that Elysium Parfum Cologne Eau de Parfum is very high up in the discourse when it comes to niche perfumes. At the time of this review, the fragrance from the British perfume house is ranked 18th among men's fragrances.

Some people here in the forum say that the fragrance is an absolute masterpiece, absolutely worth every penny and so on... i definitely can't agree with that.

This review is in no way intended to attack fans of this fragrance, everyone perceives perfumes differently, I am aware of that. However, I would like to subjectively question all the hype surrounding Elysium Parfum Cologne Eau de Parfum (abbreviated to EPC in the following), and would even be happy to enter into an exchange of experiences about the fragrance.

The beginning: EPC starts sharp with a full load of a fruit basket filled exclusively with citrus fruits. Definitely smells high quality in my opinion, authentic in some aspects too. Overall, the opening smells inviting and - good.

The middle: As it progresses, green and floral aspects emerge. To be honest, I find it difficult to pick out individual notes here. Everything is very well blended and appears very harmonious. I think that's how the fragrance was designed. Here, too, I can only say: EPC smells good in the heart note.

The end: In the base of the fragrance, which is also the longest perceptible, EPC finally becomes woody, while the freshness continues to resonate through the heart note. The fragrance even becomes slightly sweet in my opinion. Smells pleasant, and here again - good.

If you have been paying attention while reading, you will have noticed that I use the word "good" a lot to describe this perfume. And all in all, I have to say - yes, EPC smells good. But nothing more. And from now on, I'll be a little more critical of this racer.

Above all, I wonder whether the price is justified. This blue niche fragrance smells good, has a high quality, that may all be true. But is it worth just under €200? For that price, I want to be thrilled. If you just want to smell good and are looking for a similar scent, you can simply go for Bleu de Chanel Eau de Parfum, which also has a high quality for a blue fragrance and sometimes costs just under half the price.

But maybe I'm just not smelling something that others are more likely to notice, that could also be the case. That's why I would like to hear what exactly makes this fragrance so special for some people, apart from the fact that it smells good and possibly brings compliments. Maybe Elysium Parfum Cologne Eau de Parfum and I are just not made for each other, and that's okay too.

If someone is worth spending the money on this fragrance because they are so flashed by the DNA, then that's totally okay in my opinion, as I said, we all have a subjective perception here. But I still ask myself - where does the hype come from? In the case of Bleu de Chanel Eau de Parfum I can understand it very well, this fragrance was also created for the mass market, and the DNA fits perfectly. Even for the niche segment, there are blue fragrances that are more creative, such as Montabaco Verano with its tart tobacco note.

But what do you want in the niche segment with such standardized DNA? Is it about prestige? Is it about recognition? Is it about having something seemingly better than others? To put it sharply, I know, I absolutely understand if I get criticized for it. But that's what I want, because I want to understand this fragrance and everything around it.

In conclusion, I don't necessarily need a bottle of Elysium Parfum Cologne Eau de Parfum for the time being. The H/S seems to be good, as does the fragrance profile. Perhaps I will give this fragrance another chance in the future.

Thanks for reading, I look forward to any suggestions and comments :)

Oh you green currant
Why Roja, why currant!

I guess it's not Roja's fault that Elysium has a good portion of blackcurrant in it. My perfume kryptonite, so to speak.
I really wanted to love this fragrance, I tried for a long time, it just wasn't meant to be.

The fragrance sample reached me in the office, full of joyful anticipation I applied some, oh no, my worst fears came true, the currant doesn't play a supporting role, it's one of the main players.
I fought my way through this note and at some point it gradually faded away and this incredibly good drydown cast a spell over me.

I knew immediately that it wasn't for me.
Normally I give all perfumes a fair chance, even if I don't like it at first whiff, but there is one exception that is a 100% exclusion criterion.

A colleague sniffed me out, stood in my office and said "wow, that scent, what is it?"
After a brief discussion, I offered to give her the tester as a gift, she also thought it was very suitable for a woman.

The next day I come into the office and this unbelievably good scent hits my nose immediately, I go to her "do you have Elysium on it", "yes" she confirms beaming with joy and I am a little irritated, it can't have been on for long, why don't I notice any blackcurrant?

In fact, it seems as if this note is only perceived close to the body, if you take it out of the equation I love this fragrance, but unfortunately it is unsuitable for myself.

I deliberately refrain from rating this fragrance, it is not Elysium's fault that my nose despises blackcurrant so much, if this circumstance were different, I could imagine calling this fragrance my own.

Too bad, but as a wise philosopher once said, it is what it is.

I had high expectations. What I got was at best an average scent for summer. At this price I wouldn't recommend it.

This is just ok, but I struggle to see why I would ever spend the money on a bottle of this over something like Bleu De Chanel.

In the opening, we get a sparkling grapefruit & juniper berry scent. It's fresh, fruity, light. In the drydown, amber, musk and spicy woods.
