Chemistry and pepper! PAH! Patchouli. WHERE? Oud! If you can't think of anything else, type OUD! 3 letters. Nice and short. They just had to go. I get it. But it is, AS ALWAYS!!!, AB.SO.LU.TER M U R K S!!!

Brutus smells like sawdust, cedar, Virginazeder, to be exact, crazy clove and very subtle sweetness by vanilla (either Tonka, or, and also some cardamom) I don't know 100% now, there's nothing in the fragrance pyramid after all, and that ALWAYS breaks some people's necks here, and ALWAYS again.
You don't want to believe it, I know, but it's like that.

Are there no topics where you can really have a productive, knowledgeable and competent say in FIRM?

The first time niche

Brutus was not only my first niche fragrance in the collection, but was also bought in the, unfortunately now closed, really great Schlossparfümerie.
My brother picked up Stercus on the same day, which is also highly recommended in my opinion.

8 years ago, the Schlossparfümerie was like a kind of holy grail for me. I often just stood at the shop window and looked at the beautiful Roja bottles, which I only tested many years later, no longer in the Schlossparfümerie. But that's another story.

Now to the fragrance. For me and those around me, Brutus is definitely special. Niche should stand out, be unique, and Brutus definitely is.
You should like patchouli, as this fragrance is omnipresent. Once sprayed on, there is an explosion of this very patchouli with smoky and woody notes. There is also a mossy/earthy component that makes the fragrance appear very mature. As it progresses, it remains warmly spicy and becomes somewhat softer, less resinous.

It can be worn on special occasions as well as finely dosed in the office. For me personally, it is more suitable for the colder seasons, but perfect for spring
As it has a special significance for me, it is only a quarter used up and I hope that I will be able to enjoy it for many years to come. I also look back a little sadly to the time when perfume was still generally very niche and something like a castle perfumery would probably generate a lot of hype these days. I used to enter the store with wide eyes and leave with an enchanted nose.

A day in antic Rome

The sweat drops on the burning ash in antic rome. The gladiators swing their swords and fight each other. Sweat, blood and testosterone!

This scent is very masculine and represents and era of muscular man, fighting in the ash or heat.

It‘s woody from the beginning and keeps its level very high! The longlivity is above average ansd the scent does stay at one top level all the time you wear it.

If you are looking for a woody scent, that leaves maximum of masculinity and power, you should go with this Orto Parisi fragrance.

I own Megamare and Brutus (for now!)
and I love both of them. Brutus is not casual, but I would call it a signature scent! Very powerful and head turning!

Subjectiveness

It’s wonderful how fragrance can be so subjective because personally I don’t get the any of Guerlain comparisons and it doesn’t smell much like Pardon to me either. That said to my nose it does smell like a lighter slightly muskier and more wearable version of Black Afgano. I prefer the darker richer fragrance of Black Afgano but this is a solid release nonetheless.
