Upgrade to normal Society
The Gentleman range from Givenchy is one of my favorite designer ranges. So far, I think all the releases in this series have been successful. The normal Society was the worst of this series so far, although this "Society" concept with this great DNA already had potential. However, I found the implementation a little too loveless and the synthetics were also somewhat noticeable. When I received a sample of this Extreme with an order, I was a bit hooked. Not only has the performance been improved, but the DNA has been refined and the whole framework looks much more elegant.

The RRP of this fragrance is of course far too high at €138 per 100ml. These "niche" prices are already quite modern for new designer releases. But if you wait a few weeks, you can find these releases at acceptable prices. However, the P-L ratio is quite good for the entire Gentleman range, as some of them are already of niche quality. As I said, here you get a great upgrade to the original Society, which was already well received by many people. This one has more depth and is also much more sophisticated.
The fragrance comes in a dull cardboard box, which is not ugly. Still typically mainstream. But so be it, I'm not a packaging collector anyway. The bottle is quite attractive and feels great in the hand. The black coloring suits this fragrance quite well, as it has something mysterious about it and this DNA is not one of many. This fragrance has its rough edges and will not appeal to everyone. Nevertheless, it is rather pleasing and easy to wear.

For people who are more into niche fragrances, this fragrance is less for them. It is more of a typical designer fragrance, which is not a bad thing in my opinion. Because it is quite well made and goes in a creative direction. The fragrance is never too heavy, does not overwhelm and convinces with great sweet spice and a creative coffee note.
Right from the start, you get a lovely sweet and spicy fragrance that is nevertheless very uncomplicated and also exudes a little freshness. Not a typical citrusy freshness, but a mix of mint and sage. This duo is a great counterpoint to the sweet and spicy aura of this fragrance. The spiciness gives this fragrance this beautiful nutmeg note, which is accompanied by a great coffee note. Quite unique and pleasant if you like these notes. The narcissus is also quite perceptible and provides a slightly greenish touch. Iris is somewhat limited, especially if you are familiar with the other Gentleman fragrances. However, this slightly flowery-powdery iris is also present in the background, which has also been implemented quite elegantly. I don't notice the vetiver trio, but it could also play a role. Those who don't like vetiver will not be put off here. Vanilla is perceptible here as a sweet component and not at all gourmand. The sweetness convinces with a noble touch and becomes very woody from the base onwards. Overall, a very pleasing drydown with sweet wood.
Performance is really good and a real upgrade to the original Gentleman Society Eau de Parfum. This fragrance certainly lasts around 10 hours with 4-5 hours of really good sillage. You get noticed. Overall, a great candidate for the evening, leisure time and even for everyday wear when it's not so warm.

Overall a great upgrade. Not everyone will like this fragrance, but it is very appealing and this pleasant fragrance DNA will not have many enemies. It should be tested especially by those who liked the original. The right places have been tweaked here.

Coffee, vetiver, iris and vanilla or The Gentleman Society of Warmth and Coziness
I loved the fragrance notes, I couldn't help myself and had to test this fragrance, and what can I say: the facts don't lie.

The fragrance is reminiscent of hazelnut at the beginning, knowledgeable perfumers in the ticker told me that vetiver can sometimes come across as nutty. The drydown with the coffee notes, vetiver, iris and vanilla sets in relatively quickly. It's a wonderfully warm scent and I was convinced by what I smelled on my arm. However, when I sprayed it around my neck three times yesterday afternoon when it was about 20 degrees and went outside, it blew my mind. I felt like the whole street smelled of cappuccino. Using the fragrance in the fall is obvious. But in my opinion, it can also work wonderfully in spring if you want a break from freshies and fougeres. The wind is your friend when you apply this fragrance. I didn't expect it to be so distinctly fragrant.
Very faintly, I thought I smelled an Armani Stronger With You DNA WITHOUT the strong sweetness. The vetiver works wonderfully as a balancing agent.

The fragrance is also clearly long-lasting:
I could smell it very clearly for 7 hours.

It will move in with me. I'm already making a cozy place for this surprisingly wonderful friend who only wants to do you good.

If you consider attributes such as "agreeableness" or "no rough edges" to be negative characteristics, you can move on. But anyone who considers these characteristics to be valuable and does not despise designers should stop for a moment and test this fragrance. I already say "Here you go"!

P.s.: Now I know what this fragrance reminds me of: Nespresso used to sell capsules with hazelnut espresso. That's what the scent smells like.

This coffee-vetiver aroma brings me to my knees
Many thanks to Carsten for the original manufacturer's sample of Gentleman Society Eau de Parfum Extrême :-) This is now one of the very few fragrances from today that I absolutely can't stand. This coffee-vetiver aroma is simply awful and unwearable for me - sorry! At the same time, the longevity on my skin is really strong. For the first 10 hours, the scent is very noticeable and even after more than 15 hours, you can still detect the fragrance up close. The sillage is also successful so far.

I find the top note the best in the first few minutes. At first, it smells creamy and powdery with a certain lipstick aroma. It then smells decidedly spicy with nutmeg, peppermint, a hint of clary sage and a nuttiness. The heart note is then very bad for me. This combination of coffee beans and vetiver is not my cup of tea at all. It smells unpleasantly earthy, musty, root-like and even musty to me. I can't make out the flowers mentioned in the fragrance pyramid here. The base then smells more pleasant again. Here I perceive a distinct sweetness as well as bourbon vanilla.

It's a shame that I don't seem to like coffee in symbiosis with vetiver. But I'm sure there will be lovers for this perfume too.

A fun flanker
The coffee note practically makes this a gourmand. With the rest of the notes, the original Society is very much present, not in the background but alongside the coffee. Overall, it's a very pleasant fragrance. If you like Society or coffee notes, this is very much worth checking out. Definitely a Fall/Winter fragrance. Maybe a spring fragrance on a cooler day and maybe a rainy summer day.

Mint, spicy coffee, then buttery Iris opening/mid, then that trendy vanilla/woody note. The more you use it, the more you like it. This > OG

Ethyl Maltol full power. These aromachemicals cost penny's for big brands, no creativity , no development, no fine ingredients , just flat

Similiar to the OG but with a coffee note on top. Has a fresh sweet and almost icecream vibe. Dont care much, like the OG.
