undistinguished tropical floral
If I had guessed what Coach was likely to have as its namesake fragrance, it would have been something evoking horsiness (see its insignia)with a touch of chav. (I'd assumed it was a British company, but checked its website & found out that it was founded in NY.)
I'd have been surprised to read this description on its website, because it doesn't really fit the brand image to me: "a blend of soft, fresh fruits and florals with a heart of fragrant yellow blossoms and warm hints of amber and cedar wood."
And I'm more surprised still to smell this scent. In a blind test, I'm not sure I could tell it from E. Lauder's Brasil Dream. Like ELBD, it's all about the guava and jasmine. It smells like it also has a fair amount of gardenia, although it's not listed. The mimosa, which is the only "yellow flower" listed, is sadly undetectable. It's not unpleasant if you're looking for a tropical white floral, but be prepared for its initial trumpet blast of scent to be nearly undetectable in two hours.
