Oh, what a positive surprise!

Many thanks to Theresa for the bottling of Calyx (2014) :-) This shows once again that the broad opinion of the EssenceVitae community does not necessarily cover my feelings. For me, the whole thing smells really nice and fruity. I have to think of this one shampoo...what was it called again...those women moaning in the shower in the commercials (it was disturbing as a child)...Exactly! Herbal Essences! At least that's what a variety my mother or sister used to smell like (without making any funny noises from the bathroom). The longevity is amazingly good. Even after 12 hours, I can still smell a subtle fruitiness on my arm. The sillage is successful, especially at the beginning.

The top note smells like a fruity and fresh shampoo with grapefruit, passion fruit and slightly green notes. The heart note remains tropical and fruity with floral and greenish aromas of freesia and jasmine blossom. The base also smells fruity, green and floral. Here I recognize iris and violet. Sandalwood adds a certain balsamic quality to the fragrance.

This is a really beautiful, fresh, fruity and summery everyday fragrance. I like!

Morning has broken (the 3.0 zen version of a great classic)

I tested just a few days ago this scent which was on sale at one of my favourite drugstores of my town.
Well, when I was a little girl I remember that there was a famous perfume having the same name but I never smelled it and I haven't any memory of that vintage version.
What I recently smelled is a fresh-green and quite "zen" fragrance, light and clean like the morning dew on the grass. Pleasant, refreshing, perfect in the hottest days and particularly soft to be worn at the office or in crowded places. It's the typical morning scent to wear with a light and White cotton shirt.
But i was too curious to know how it was the original formula and here's to you the pyramid:
Top Notes- Apricot, Bergamot, Spearmint, Peach, Tagetes
Heart Notes- Cyclamen, Jasmine, Lily, Lily-of-the-valley, Melon, Rose
Base Notes -Raspberry, Moss, Musk, Cedar
The main characters of the new formula are the green notes and a soft and light Jasmine not so intoxicating but only suggested.I didn't smell the sandalwood at the base.
You can remark that many notes were different and maybe the reason of this change is in the new taste of the 3rd millenium people.
On my skin the new version isn't so longlasting and the sillage is quite weak, although a light "scent of good" remains for about an hour or two. ù
"Morning has broken" sang Cat Stevens and if you want to smell the scent of a morning in the countryside you could spray this fragrance. But it's a quite evanescent pleasure....

Tropical wave!

Calyx is a tropical, refreshing green perfume.When I spray it I get all the exotic fruits that they are listed and the dry down is something else.The base notes are coming up.A green wave, refreshing and very classy for Springtime and summer nights.Not sweet on me.
If you enjoy green and fruity perfumes this is the one.
