First well and then OHYES! LOVE! Simply LOVE!
I went through a little rollercoaster of emotions with the Bogner Woman. At first, the name makes you think that there are similarities to my beloved Woman No. 1. But that is not the case. However, there seems to be some confusion on EssenceVitae, as Woman No. 1 can sometimes be seen in the pictures of Bogner Woman. I once put a photo of my 6 miniatures in my photo album, because the miniature and bottle looked exactly the same as in my picture.
Some of you are probably wondering why I own 6 miniatures: Quite simply, at the beginning, when I was desperately looking for the Woman No. 1, I was still unsure which one was the "right one". That's why I can now tell these two fragrances apart very well. Admittedly, I was a little disappointed at first because the top note didn't smell like Woman No. 1 at all. But the fragrance DNA of Bogner Woman has developed so well that I now want to keep all the miniatures. The base note is simply wonderful! The sillage may not be effervescent, but the longevity is perfectly fine. Although the whole thing smells relatively close to the skin after 4-6 hours, I could still easily detect some miniatures on my skin even after 12 hours.
The top note starts off somewhat effervescent with a slightly sour but pronounced citrus aroma. Here I recognize bergamot, lemons and a hint of mandarin oranges. The heart note is very floral but also woody, balsamic, sweet and subtly earthy. There are hints of rosewood, patchouli, garden carnations, iris, jasmine blossom, cedarwood and rose water. I also have to think a little of a gentle soapiness here. The base smells really great to me, creamy, powdery, sweet and vanilla-like. I can smell tonka beans, bourbon vanilla, slightly tobacco-like ambergris, animalic, leathery civet with musk and a lovely hint of benzoin. Oh, and I think I can also catch a hint of cinnamon and cloves. Simply melting away!
As a guy, what am I going to do with my miniatures now? Well, if one day I can give up my lonely "single existence", I would have a fragrance for my sweetheart. What I'm already thinking about today...I know...I'm far too cerebral...
