Blast of Labdanum
This is very disturbing!
A blast of Labdanum with Leather and little Citrus.
I regret bitterly my blind buy after watching a Youtube review of Bowtie Fragranceguy.
It has a Danaë vibe but Danaë is almost better and more wearable.
The scent really bother your neighbours.
Expensive and very disappointed.
Long lasting, very good projection and great sillage. This is a beast mode performer.

Through the kitchen window into the sea of labdanum
Fresh ginger is grated, a burning sensation runs through my nose,
Sun shining through the kitchen window, dry lavender umbels in the vase.

Condensed water droplets run down the chilled glass of lemonade,
Lemon slices and peppercorns dance merrily back and forth in the fizzy fun.

Meanwhile, coals smolder in the oven, clouds of labdanum in the air,
Cardamom crushed in the mortar, what a wonderfully spicy fresh scent.

Leather chairs around the dining table, newly upholstered this morning,
The vapors of leather polish drift around in sharp waves.

With my lemonade buzz, I let myself fall onto one of those stools,
Reach for the sweet vanilla clay chips, to spurn them would be sacrilege.

I rest gently on soft leather, my gaze wanders around,
Sunlight through the kitchen window into the sea of labdanum.

Fin.

With Fall of Phaeton, Argos has achieved a truly beautiful creation, which turns out to be a multi-layered surprise. It opens with yellow, fine citrus with a good portion of spicy ginger. The latter can be heard very clearly and gives the top note a nice twist. Crunchy, pink peppercorns soon join in and the initially diffuse, yellow citrus takes on the shape of ripe lemons. But the true protagonist is not long in coming - harsh labdanum. Wonderfully smoky and resinous, it breathes a really beautiful contrast into the work. Fresh, dry and slightly spicy notes contribute cardamom and lavender, while sharp leather adds a little depth and harmonizes very well with the smoky notes of labdanum. These two very harsh notes become softer and softer as the fragrance progresses and no longer stand out quite so intensely, while tonka and vanilla provide the right amount of sweetness. A really great release all round!

Being the light
The Greeks called his of light the tears of the sisters of Phaeton, who were struck by Zeus' lightning and whose tears were transformed into amber. They themselves became poplars. According to the myth, this happened when Phaeton crashed with the chariot of the sun and his sisters, deeply saddened by his loss, wept.

Phaeton. A demigod. Son of the sun god Helios, who in his recklessness was allowed to steer the sun chariot, which is known to have gone quite wrong. S.o. Exciting name for a perfume. However, Phaeton means very little to most people, especially if they are not particularly familiar with Greek mythology. The term Phaeton is more familiar from the Volkswagen Group, which once produced the Phaeton. But why such a "negative" name should be given to a car remains a mystery to me. A car as a sun car? Admittedly, I think it's a shame that the car is no longer produced, except in China (under a different name), because it had that certain something. I still find the name controversial, but also somehow exciting. I drove it myself and sat in it very often. Nevertheless, things didn't go well for the car, because unfortunately there was never a new edition. It always reminds me of the death of the Austrian politician Jörg Haider. When people in Austria talk about the Phaeton, they also talk about Haider. Because he died in one of these cars.

But we're not here to talk about cars, we're here to talk about perfume. But I always find it very exciting when fragrances have such names and where you can add certain things yourself and already have a few stories about them.

Fall of Phaeton begins pleasantly warm and spicy. Ginger, which is clearly spicy but by no means unpleasant, unfolds its full power here. It combines extremely willingly and frugally with citrusy aspects that really shine in the rising sun. Everything is gently undermined by a peppery dose that also carries some cardamom and a hint of cinnamon. The fragrance then becomes much deeper. Much warmer, with a hint of smoky serenity. A light, cool touch of lavender, which smoothly takes center stage here, also soon appears. The smoke becomes denser with time. It no longer shines so brightly in the sun, it is literally glowing. I can personally imagine it in any season and it has such immense power, this fragrance. It chases forward, unfurls like a forbidden flower and crushes pleasant essences in the process. A little musk in the background, perfectly rounded off with a very edgy tonka bean, which is tightly wound on leather. Everything is very steamy. A beating heart of the Orient that pumps blood through the body. I really like it, especially the warm, smoky notes that the fragrance carries within it and sets the scene well. Certainly not everyone's cup of tea and for others it may well be controversial, but I think it's very good and it's a compliment catcher. In my opinion, it is equally suitable for women and men. The fragrance itself clings to the wearer's heels for a very long time and has a room-taking sillage, but it is by no means overpowering (unless you overdo it with the diesel), but hardly anyone can be that world-weary.

The bottle is extremely high-quality and feels heavy in the hand. I find the portrait of the fall of the Phaeton artistically beautiful, although I also wonder, as with the VW Phaeton, why such a fragrance deserves such a name. It is certainly the myth of the Phaeton, everything that is behind its actions, and that is a good thing! I'm still getting to know Argos, I like a few things, others less, but one thing is definitely certain:

Fall of Phaeton moved in with me after an immensely short time. I didn't feel the need to buy anything for a long time, but I had to grab it and I'm extremely happy about it.

Great development / If you love vanilla, you'll love this! / A little tip...
Hello everyone,

do we have here with the Fall of Phaeton the next cracker of the house?

Possibly yes, but before I give you my conclusion, I would like to tell you 1 or 2 things about the fragrance.

It starts very citrusy (almost fresh)) with the ginger in combination it almost reminds me of my old favorite, the Uden Overdose! Then the labdanum with the lavender comes around the corner quite quickly and creates a very subtle fougere touch, but the lavender tends to stay in the second row.

The oud and the leather listed here are for me (!) only marginal phenomena that say "ey, I'm here..., here I am!" but I think they are only the basic framework to create the really decent performance, among other things.

In my opinion, the real STAR of this fragrance is the drydown. If you like or love vanilla, then the drydown will be your absolute DREAM. The mix of the vanilla - tonka with the well-known (fluffy soft) Argos musk is really "to nibble on"!
If you want and are looking for something like this - then take the Fall of Phaeton ,
BUT before you buy the BLIND, please test it!
About the performance:

Good to very good... (each)

How is it received?

My tests so far (several) have been very positive and so far I've only received really nice feedback!
When would I recommend it?

Exactly like the Triumph of Bacchus Extrait de Parfum from September to May!

Conclusion:

Argos may have come up with another "little cracker" here, but at a price of just under 270€ you should test it. However, if you like something like this with vanilla, a great development, a very good performance, a really great bottle..., then I can recommend it!
And where would I recommend it?

Almost really everywhere, but especially at work I would dose it discreetly, because it's really loud + noticeably strong. Especially the vanilla - tonka - musk! But especially on a date, I think it's really great. This fragrance will always go down very well ;). (But don't overdo it either)

And finally, something about the bottle, the sprayer, the lid and the box! You can think what you want about the company (as with everyone), but you have to admit one thing - the bottles (with the lid) are an eye-catcher and as far as the point is concerned I can only give a true (!) 10 out of 10. I really can't help anyone who gives this an 8 or lower. We are noticeably and visibly in the absolute high-end range here...

And now, almost finally, to the point about the "dear price", let me put it this way: if we say we have a certain desire for luxury products / fragrance products in the niche sector, then I find it difficult or quite honestly almost pointless to chalk this up as something negative. Nobody is forcing us to spend this money. If you ask me now: Benny is it worth it? Then I say, if you want to spend it, test it and then buy it, but I recommend everyone to test it! You just have to experience it - the art of what is / can be possible.

If I really wasn't convinced, I wouldn't recommend it to you!
And now have a nice day/evening, or whatever you read this review, LG the Benny

Fresh spicy opening - quite unique. The dry down is a well balanced vanilla tonka scent. So far in my top 2 from the house.

I can't believe how good this smells. Totally luxurious, creamy green ginger draped over rubbery soapy oud, with pasty vanilla and leather

A very citrusy opening alongside a creamy accord. The spice then comes through and stays a while.
