Coffee and TV?
Anna Zworykina can do something, that much is certain. Thankfully Angua has already written many great comments about the Russian perfumer and finally I am allowed to write a SECOND comment on one of the rarer natural perfumes here. With a few exceptions I can join her in her praise. With this brand, there are indeed candidates for purchase.
For me, C&C is first and foremost a dreamy cocoa scent with a cuddly character. First of all: I hardly find any coffee here either. But I also hardly find orange ;)
The fragrance starts off dark dry, slightly winter spicy and minimally floral. Cointreau resonates as a tipsy orange with a brief bitter peppery note. The fragrance is dense and clearly reminds me of Neuffers - Angua's mention of "Stardust" does not surprise me a bit. I swapped his sample with Jumi last year, so I don't dare to submit it as a fragrance twin, but according to notes and memory, they sound wonderfully similar strings. A hint of fruity depth - which, as I said, I can't clearly attribute to orange, but may also come from patchouli - on a smoky roast flame. After one or two hours patch wafts more clearly to the surface, but dives down again and again. This is only right for me, because the earthy nuances remain subtle and rare. As such a fleetingly woven fixative I like it in its role. Later, C&C even conjures up caramel notes in the drink.
Coffee and Chocolate successfully avoids all scent traps of my cocoa perfume antipathies. It stays dark enough. It never gets too sweet and is still delicious throughout. Until the cuddly end, about half a day later it is drawn close to the skin.
Coffee & TV is one of my favourite Blur songs. In the accompanying video clip, a milk carton finds its way to heaven as a way out of a messed up life. What's different from the scent?
1) milk did not come in
2) Coffee didn't really come in either
