Perfect autumn companion, attention spicy!
Rarely have I tested a fragrance so perfectly suited to a season. From the first spray, I was reminded of the countless autumn walks I took last year. I walked for hours with my husband through our nearby woods, the smell of coniferous and deciduous trees mingling with damp earth, the first wood stoves being fired up and their smoke permeating the air. The sky was steel grey, but not unkind. Nature and animals were slowly preparing for winter, but there were still many golden hours of sunshine.
The thick scarves still scratched a bit, the feet had to get used to the solid, somewhat clunky hiking boots again, and in the bag I always had a bar of dark chocolate, as a snack (my husband smiles every time about it, but I think chocolate tastes outside again quite different than indoors, and I am now a pleasure person).
Afterwards, we treated ourselves to coffee and children's punch in our favorite restaurant, high up in the forest, next to a small church. The tiled stove crackled next to us, and it was just quaint and cozy. Hach, there I look forward to it again! Good that baby girl also likes to be outside :-)

"Vanilla Diorama" is of course not an earthy forest scent, it already hits in the sweet direction, but you definitely have to like spicier perfumes.
The description "sweet-gourmandig" I can not share, I feel it even a bit misleading, because you could expect a completely different fragrance based on the fragrance notes. I definitely felt that way. The cardamom is very noticeable, and gives the scent its autumnal spice. I am slightly reminded of spice cake (my specialty during the cold season), the cocoa in the scent makes this impression perfect. Patchouli gives it depth, but really doesn't make it too tart and dark.

Yes, there is similarity to "Feve delicieuse", however, I would call the two already as independent fragrances. In "Vanilla Diorama" you can smell the citrus notes out well, these make the fragrance lighter than its distant relative. I don't smell rum directly, I think it is very finely interwoven with the spices and chocolate. The perfume is mMn suitable and pleasing even for spice novices, as the vanilla makes it soft and approachable. "Feve delicieuse" is already different, stronger. The sillage is a little more than close to the body, which I find absolutely good for this fragrance. For that, it still lasts a good 8 hours. It is friendly and bright, but in its way adult and relatively elegant, yet resonates a certain melancholy, which brings autumn with it. He fits to cuddle on the couch, to the extended hike and to go for a nice coffee equally.

I think when I start decorating for autumn in late September, early October, I'll try to recreate the scent on a plate with all sorts of components. A few vanilla sticks, dried orange slices, some cocoa beans (the chocolate ones), cardamom, star anise if necessary, peppercorns, some dried leaves and woods, see what comes out.

A test, the fragrance is definitely worth it, even if it has similarities to some well-known fragrances (the previous speaker has already explained this excellently). I look forward to the autumn, which will hopefully be a golden!
With "Vanilla Diorama" I have already found my perfect companion, whether it's rainy-cool-foggy, or sunny-warm-clear-golden. Merci Monsieur Demachy!

One scent - many memories!
When I saw a few weeks ago that soon a new fragrance comes out and this has the theme of vanilla (OH GOD, I LOVE VANILLE!!) I had the fragrance immediately put on the watch list and could hardly wait until this is available so I can get me a bottling.

Well, a few days ago I had then seen that bottlings are offered here and fackelte not long and ordered me immediately one.

Yesterday, the bottling finally arrived, but since it was too warm for me yesterday to test perfume, I waited until today, since today the temperatures were rather pleasant / cool. So I grabbed the bottling today, sprayed on and immediately brought my fat olfactory bulb in position :D

Scent
Immediately after spraying on you can smell the lemon and orange, but only for about 2 minutes, then this scent takes a bit of a back seat and something spicy, warm, vanilla comes out.

I could actually smell out almost all the fragrance notes here ie lemon, orange, pink pepper, cardamom, vanilla, rum, cocoa and sandalwood. How patchouli smells, I still do not know exactly...

This may sound silly, but that's exactly the order in which you can actually smell the scents.

""To put it more precisely"":
Vanilla Diorama starts citrusy and then slowly becomes spicy-warm i.e. the pink pepper and cardamom then take over. After a few more minutes, vanilla, rum and cocoa join in, with the vanilla keeping a low profile at first and only gradually getting stronger. At some point it becomes vanilla-woody-spicy. I strongly suspect that this is an interplay of the rum, vanilla and sandalwood. The rum here doesn't come across as alcoholic at all like in Spiritueuse Doubla Vanille, for example, but somehow comes across as spicy-woody and quite diluted, as if someone diluted the rum with a lot of water to tone it down. I also somehow smell a tiny hint of cinnamon here, though it's not listed anywhere. Either there really is a tiny bit of cinnamon in there, or it's from the rum.

So the scent starts citrusy, then becomes spicy-vanilla-woody, and towards the end the scent becomes sweet and even powdery, reminding me of a whole bunch of other perfumes, hence my headline.

""Scents Vanilla Diorama reminds me of"":
- MFK - Grand Soir (without resin, benzoin and much, much milder)
- XerJoff - Amber Star (just very, very light)
- Guerlain - Cuir Beluga (because of the vanilla and powderiness)
- Guerlain - Spiritueuse Double Vanille (because of spicy-woody, vanilla / rum)
- The Merchant of Venice - La Fenice (also because of the vanilla, powderiness and sweetness)

It actually feels to me like Vanilla Diorama is a blend of all the above fragrances, in that exact order, all gradually making their appearance in altered and toned down form. And I can also very much understand and relate to the comparisons with MFK Grand Soir, since, as mentioned above, it does indeed start out reminiscent of Grand Soir (only without the resin and benzoin and much less aggressive), due to the slight cinnamon smell (which both have, though no cinnamon listed) and the vanilla spiciness.

While I don't find Vanille Diorama to be anything special or anything I haven't smelled before in other fragrances, I still think Vanille Diorama is incredibly great, especially for vanilla fans, it's worth a try!

""Season"":
I would actually argue that you can wear Vanilla Diorama in all seasons, except in summer (if, then only in the evening when it cools down).

""Occasions"":
Vanilla Diorama can be properly dosed easily wear to all conceivable occasions, whether professional or private, whether for dinner or date. I can not imagine with the best will in the world, where Vanilla Diorama is inappropriate, except possibly at a heavy metal concert o. ä.

""Sillage & Durability""
As is known, the durability and sillage on my skin is every time 8+ hours, here also. One smells even hours later still the perfume from a few meters away.

""Flacon"":
Well... plain and simple but still not inferior. It does not always have to be pompous, sometimes it is enough just plain and simple to still look high quality.

""Recommendation"":
Clearly yes! The price is set a little too high, because it is nothing new but still high quality and worth a test or purchase (if you like vanilla and sweetish).

""Words of thanks""
Many thanks to MoeJoe for the bottling :)

Best Blind Buy
Right away - I am thrilled! A week I wait now blissfully and finally I hold the bottle in my hands. I have now heard so many opinions that I had of course already certain expectations.

The first thought at first smell was the similarity to Fève Délicieuse - which made me very happy, because that was on my wish list anyway. To help me then took a sample of exactly the fragrance mentioned to have on the other hand the direct comparison. I understand the thought to Grand Soir, rather less to Noir Extreme, but the general cuddly sweetness is common to all. Lemon and orange I perceive little to not at all, I have to try very hard, vllt even imagine. Sandalwood comes in later and makes my nose tingle. The vanilla remains omnipresent, but is the progression from sweet to spicy, which makes it especially later then decisively different from the praline counterpart.

Several times it was mentioned how truly unisex it was, the mere mention of which unsettled me. I thought that he might be a little more masculine, but I agree: He is so unisex, as unisex only be no - you do not even think about what gender the fragrance would be assigned, but you have a mood, a feeling, a personality in mind. And only in the second step you think "oh yes, that could also wear xy!"

I'm super excited to smell the scent on my husband - and that's the great thing, because our scent chemistry is so different, we ALWAYS have two scent experiences with one scent.

Vanilla Diorama summed up in one word? HERRLICH!

a special treat
That Christian Dior had a penchant for good, down-to-earth food is well known.
He was particularly fond of dishes from his Breton homeland, which he often enjoyed with a good glass of wine.
He was also easily enthralled by desserts and sweets; which he and his tailor always remarked!

So this fragrance also has a sweet antecedent, which François Demachy turned into one of his famous fragrance compositions.
"Vanille Diaroma" was a pastry and Monsieur Dior's favorite dessert that "Maxim's" created especially for him.
There are no pictures or descriptions of this delicacy, which apparently got its name in reference to the famous fragrance "Diorama."
So Monsieur Demachy had to find here a fragrance to a name, which also Christian Dior liked and which would have found his approval.
He has fulfilled his task excellently; "Vanille Diorama" is a true feast for the nose!

Elegant warm vanilla invigorates all the senses; fresh citrus notes provide interesting fragrance contrasts.
Beautifully creamy and sensual, this texture nestles against the skin, pampering it generously and caressing with fragrance particles that become more intense over time and delight me.
A good pinch of cocoa, spiced with ripe dark rum aroma and earthy golden brown patchouli and a light sandalwood erotic note, rounds off this work of art harmoniously.
Thus, at the same time a color to match fragrance composition of creamy vanilla white, dark golden brown and the bright orange and bright yellow of the fruits.
All this I can imagine well also as a dessert; in addition, a matching glass of wine ...

"La Collection Privée Christian Dior" takes you into the fragrant world of the art-loving and flower-loving master.
With each fragrance work of art, you think you get a little closer to its essence.
This certainly works even if you haven't studied his life, his work and his gardens as intensively as I have in recent months.
"Vanilla Diorama" also builds a scent bridge to the person who was part of that famous name.
A refined, polite and amiable gentleman who was a bit comfortable and very shy.

I feel very comfortable in this world of Christian Dior and François Demachy.
I want to sit relaxed with them and listen when they tell their stories.
Because I love it when someone tells me stories.
So I always enjoy listening to what one of their fragrance compositions tells me.
Most of the time it is worth it!

A fragrance that awakens memories
My first contact with Vanilla Diorama started like this: I meet my best buddy for lunch and immediately smelled Tobacco Vanilla by Tom Ford. No, he said, it's Vanilla Diorama, the new Maison Dior.
I make myself afterwards on the way and go to my favorite perfumery to test the..at the entrance, the nice saleswoman printed me a test strip, and a new fragrance to test.I tell her-No,it's not new,I even wear it myself in winter-Tobacco Vanille I already know. And again the same mistake:it was Vanilla Diorama.
The fragrance is nice, just my direction, but smells to me like Tobacco Vanilla mixed with Guerlain-Spiriteuse Double Vanille and about Cuir Beluga, also from Guerlain.Nothing new or original here.

Despite the word, “vanilla,” in the name, Vanilla Diorama is great for people who generally eschew vanilla-centric perfumes. Spice life!

Amazing scent! It’s like a mix of feve delicieuse + spice blend. A boozy spicy gourmand! On me, better longevity and sillage than feve.

Sweet citric opening with cardamom, similar to XerJoff Starlight. In the drydown, a soft gourmand vanilla, creamy with rum and cocoa powder.

Last masterpiece of Demachy. Spicy vanilla with cardamom. A cooling feeling with lesser sweet notes. The perfect balance
