A Morning Scent Journey Through Paris: The New "Soufflot" Eau de Parfum by Miller Harris

The British label Miller Harris presents the unisex fragrance "Soufflot" - a delicate amber scent inspired by a peaceful morning scene from Ernest Hemingway's "The Sun Also Rises".

The sun shines through the horse chestnut trees, flowers are picked up from the market and the air is filled with the smell of morning brioche, coffee and tobacco.

The fragrance journey of "Soufflot" opens with the slightly sweet and nutty notes of hazelnut and chestnut, accompanied by the tangy freshness of green mandarin. At the heart, a sweet and floral symphony of exotic jasmine sambac absolute unfolds, refined by the rich, sweet accent of honey and a warm, spicy hint of cinnamon leaves. In the finish, the warm note of tobacco absolute blends with the balsamic, slightly sweet tones of Peru balsam and Siam benzoin, rounded off by the resinous, woody and ambery depths of cypriol, labdanum, leather and orcanox.

The composition captures a morning stroll in the Jardin du Luxembourg, as described in Ernest Hemingway's work "The Sun Also Rises". The scene of awakening and the beauty of the everyday was the only guideline for the perfumer Mathieu Nardin when developing the fragrance.

In the morning I walked down the Boulevard to the rue Soufflot for coffee and brioche. It was a fine morning. The horse-chestnut trees in the Luxembourg gardens were in bloom. There was the pleasant early-morning feeling of a hot day. I read the papers with the coffee and then smoked a cigarette. The flower-women were coming up from the market and arranging their daily stock.
