Sweet gourmand, nicely put together
Divine Aphrodisiac is my third try of the latest trio of Navitus Parfums releases curated by BowTie Fragrance Guy. This is, from the start, a sweet gourmand, with notes of almond, peanut butter, praline, and coffee, among others. It does have some sharp elements, also, but I’d certainly say that it’s more sweet than sharp, led by the almond, first above all, so it smells first and foremost like a sharp and sweet almond scent, with a sugary, coffee, bakery-like background that fosters a fairly agreeable gourmand experience. Also balancing the sweet are some spices: cinnamon and sesame, though I don’t get very much of either, but there’s a general sort of spicy background to the more saccharine foreground. In total, it’s a bit more of a gourmand than, say, XO Brandy, which, while boozy, I found to have some floral components, whereas Divine Aphrodisiac, despite having notes of iris and vetiver, is more firmly rooted in the gourmand elements.

Overall, I quite like this and will give it some more tries, for sure, perhaps in comparison to other gourmands or gourmand-like fragrances, like XO Brandy. It’s quite nice, up to the Navitus standard, and is surely a must-try for gourmand lovers, hopefully to be available in a discovery set of some kind.

Like other recent releases from Navitus, the pricing is a very reasonable $145 for 100ml, and for now, Divine Aphrodisiac is only sold on the house website.
