Summertime & The Livin Is Easy
I’m sorry to say I don’t think I wore this one time in calendar year 2023. I’ve been making a concerted effort to wear everything in my wardrobe yearly so everything gets some love on the regular. That being said, I recall the first couple times I wore this I wasn’t quite sure what to make of it. In all honestly I believe that may been winter testings of the scent and it just wasn’t hittin - let me clarify, I’m quite taken by nearly every frag where Cecile Z is the nose behind it and it was just that I wasn’t as take by this. Now, with that being out of the weigh, can I say having this on during a pretty warm day, roughly 80 F, and it just slaps!
The initial burst of citrus and green notes was sparklingly fresh. It didn’t take long before the iris and orange blossom came to play. Those notes seem to round this out and almost make it buttery smooth, on my skin, almost gourmand in a way that reminds me a tad of both Unknown Pleasures and Arty Positano - Vanille Fleur d'Oranger . Though I reference those, please understand, this is very much its own scent. When the base notes come to play this seems to take a turn and I begin to think this may be a great evening scent when the sun goes down and the temperature drops - especially if near the ocean in the northeast where the summer evening temps can really retreat. I’m guessing it must be the Vetiver in the base mixing with the clove in the mid, but I get the occasional whif that almost have an incensey smoky feel which gives me that feeling it would work beautifully in the evening. Something about it just makes me think it would be gorgeous as the weather cools after the sun goes down and an ocean breeze wafts this about. Magnificent and glad I took a very concentrated drive with this on today. Opened my eyes to what I previously had not appreciated to this degree.
