The perfect accident

I actually only bought my sample of Decembrie 89 to get free shipping at first, which I think is the best decision I have made with fragrances to date! It really was love at first spray which surprised me greatly as I expected this to be "just another good vanilla frag" but it really is (in my opinion) the perfect one!

To start, the citrus on top is completely lost on me, even knowing its meant to be there I cant smell it at all; however I genuinely believe this would have just made it a bit worse so I'm happy its not noticeable! Instead its just this divine vanilla and hazelnut gourmand pairing, that to me smells like being bundled up in a cosy blanket with a platter of the most wonderful of freshly baked pastries in front of you; the rum note makes it appearance as a slightly boozy almost chocolatey note, its really subtle when it has settled down a bit and just adds a bit extra of that "homey" feeling to it all. Its actually so incredibly smooth and intoxicating that I find myself smelling my skin constantly throughout the day just so I can keep feeling it, which practically never happens to me with fragrances!

It is really difficult for me to describe this fragrance in any deeper way than I have here, it would just boil down to me saying its "perfect" in 3 different ways if id have to continue.

Childhood !

This scent immediately reminds me of my childhood. Christmas. A very powerful, juicy hazelnut note supported by the sweetness of the vanilla and the warmth of the rum. A pleasant fruity note comes through at first. This develops differently on each skin. By far the best and most delicious gourmand I have ever smelled. I don't need to say anything about the bottle, do I? All in all, the fragrance and the bottle are a blessing for any perfume collection. Definitely give it a try

Hazelnut per excellence

Decembrie 89 - Freedom Elixir is a special fragrance by a special artist.
Adi ale Van manages to create truly unique fragrances and wonderful bottles.
You can feel the craftsmanship and love that goes into the products.
They are truly works of art.
Adi ale Van is truly niche.
Hardly anyone knows this artist and he manages to create special, unique fragrances.
Peculiar is not meant negatively, but simply peculiar in its own way.

About the fragrance itself:
For me, this fragrance starts off quite strongly. A very unique kind of sweetness paired with spicy facets. It is definitely a gourmand. Citrus fruits are listed in the top note. Admittedly, I can hardly perceive them at all.
Lemon ? No.
Apple? Possibly very subtle
Orange? Maybe a little, yes.
As I said, orange is the citrus fruit note that I can catch the most

At the forefront, however, I can definitely recognize one accord, the hazelnut.
The hazelnut is listed in the heart note and for me it is actually the heart of the fragrance in general.
A wonderful hazelnut accord with a warming vanilla accord. Hazelnut and vanilla work really well here and create a very special fragrance.

There is also an interesting and delicious shot of rum.
The rum adds a slightly alcoholic touch, but with a really alcoholic smell. Sounds strange, but it's really meant that way.
I can also smell a dark chocolate and possibly even a very subtle smoky touch. You can think of Havana Club rum, for example.
The taste of Havana Club always reminds me a little of a kind of dark chocolate and, in my opinion, this is the kind of rum used here.
I just get these associations here.

It becomes softer towards the end.
The rather strong spicy hazelnut impression becomes softer and softer and the gentle vanilla also pushes itself more and more into the foreground.
This pleasant rum, as well as the hazelnut, are still somehow present.
For me, it simply smells a little like a delicious cappuccino or latte macchiato with a little hazelnut syrup at the end.

About the performance:
The fragrance easily lasts eight hours on me. More like 9-12 hours. The sillage is a little weaker, but still really really good!
