Smells like a complete reformulation and a different scent
I have been busy busy busy spraying away my bottle of April Violets from two or three decades ago as it pairs so well with my Al Haramain Narjis.

No worry I thought, I know they will have tweaked it a bit (everything is) but it will still be sweet violet cachous.

Oh what a mistake; I had no idea there had been a complete redesign of this scent.

The old version is beautifully sweet parma violets, powdery, musky; the new version is a citrus, sandalwood, oddly musky, slightly green, strange water note concoction.

And weak; one spray from my old version smells much stronger than 10 (letting dry and topping up) from the new. My son likewise thought there was barely any smell but that could be just our sense of smell.

I would be interested to try this perfume at a full parfum concentration. At this toilette water strength it is a complete fail for me even as a liberally applied all over body spray.

I don't know what I would think of this were it not for the fact that it is no longer April Violets. It isn't a nasty smell although I find the watery notes a bit strange. It reminds me of the musks in Tova Signature (doesn't smell like Tova other than that) but is too thin and pared down.

I;ve only just bought my bottle and wonder if it has been changed from the design launched in 2015.

I'm surprised that it says it is made from 94% naturally derived ingredients and wonder what does that actually mean? Does it mean the perfume concentrate is 94% is naturally derived, or does it mean that the whole scent as sold is 94% naturally derived including the alcohol and water? Two different things entirely.

Complete rework of the original April Violets. Nothing whatsoever similar. Very weak.
