Timeless elegance
Dear EssenceVitaes,
what fragrance should you write a review about if not your absolute favorite? A few weeks ago, I simply sprayed it on the tester in a perfumery and immediately knew: this is it!
I had been looking for a special fragrance for a while - not a H/S monster like the classic winter fragrances from PDM and co., but one that you can wear all year round when you go out, that won't make people breathless in summer, but won't drown either. And that's exactly what the 40 Knots delivers in my eyes like no other.
In the opening, the fragrance is very fresh due to the saltwater note, you have the feeling that the spray is hitting you in the face, mixed with a pleasant honey note. I was introduced to it as a sea scent - I think that describes it perfectly.
After the top note has faded, a woody drydown follows, in which I no longer really notice the honey mentioned in the notes. After several hours, some amber is added, which gives the fragrance a certain sweetness and elegance.
