Trip down memory lane
My first comment when I sniffed this perfume in the boutique was "this smells like childhood". That's usually the reaction I get from smelling powdery perfumes. It dries down as sweet and spicy powder on my skin, but it's so much more than that. It's a strong and sophisticated scent, leaning feminine, but can definitely be worn by men. I don't really smell the citrus in it, I was surprised to find three citruses in the top notes. Heart and base notes are playing the first violin here.

It's been about 3 years since I purchased the perfume and it became my go to wedding guest and "fancy night out" perfume. It's a head turner, but not in an overpowering way.

On dusty roads
Uncommented fragrances No. 146

Although many connoisseurs of the niche scene always rush to the latest Tauer fragrance, no comment has been made so far, everything sounds a little restrained, even if the average score is not bad. This may be surprising, but is perhaps also due to the pale character of the fragrance.
Les Années 25 Bis seems a little unbalanced to me, but is also fascinating. So much to begin with.
But now in order.
Like some other newer Tauer fragrances, LA25BIS is characterized by a dry, more dusty than powdery aura. Add to that - as with Tauers L'Eau - a sweetness that seems a bit too strong in this context, although it doesn't dominate at all. Both fragrances remind me a little of dextrose, which I don't like. This impression is supported by the fruitiness of the fragrance, which is indicated here with peach, citrus and orange, although the individual components can hardly be differentiated.
The floral accents are as diffuse as if the whole fragrance were hidden behind a white veil of dust. If you can imagine such a thing, you might like the scent. The powdery character could come from the iris root, which is actually found among the ingredients listed, but is still strangely foreign here.
Darker tones then develop in the base, in which I basically cannot isolate vetiver and patchouli. I miss earthiness and woody tones, which usually characterize both notes. The notes of ambergris and benzoin may be obvious, because after a while a warm, sweetish, maybe even a little resinous note becomes noticeable on the skin (less on the fragrance strip). From this point on, the fragrance gains charm, becomes woody, aromatic and less fruity - and thus becomes more attractive to me, so that in the end I would say that I like the fragrance.
However, he will not become a candidate for purchase for me, and that disappointed me a little, because I have been waiting in vain for such a candidate among the younger Tauers for quite some time. In the newer compositions, LAir des Alpes Suisses is at most interesting in a bulky way, where the powdery notes frame a herbaceous heart note, which is at least original and almost solitary, while Tauers L'Eau sets an irritating counterpoint to the name, which would make one think of colognes, aquatic freshness or a note of algae, but ultimately seems as dusty and dry as Les Années 25 Bis.
