Russian soul
What does "Open Gold" have to do with Russia? for sure I don't know, but I feel it like this.
This is a wonderfully spicy fragrance, just as I imagine the smell of the endless taiga and the forests there. Even though I was never there.
Woods, grasses, spices, flowers, especially carnation, rose and jasmine in the heart, and leather like chamois and boots of Cossacks in the "old Tsarist Empire".
I see the onion towers of the Kremlin in front of me, the place in front of them snow-covered, a large weekly market with everything my heart desires, for the rich and the unhealthy citizens.
A conglomeration of spices, fabrics, vegetables and fruit, tea kept hot in samovars, offered for sale against the cold, for warming up. With cloves and cinnamon.
Fiery, funny and equally melancholic songs echo through the streets and alleys.
Away from the big city, villages with simply living inhabitants who, despite poverty, often lived to be over 100 years old.
Fragrances of the Orient mixed with those of the Occident in a vast country.
Like hot fires and icy frosts. Like tender blossoms and and huge trees.
Like delicate gold art and coarse forging.
Like opposites that belong together. Like the "Russian soul" hard and cordial, introverted and exuberant... and ... and ... and... like "Open Gold".
