Hello you fragrance fanatics! It is once again time to press your Glubschauugen to the monitor or screen (boah, must leave an imprint on the screen... :D) and read my latest fragrance report :))
It's all about the brand Penhaligon's today, who I'm sure many are familiar with. However, the Equinox Bloom fragrance from it could possibly be a little less known. Equinox, hmm... I only know Equinox as an (older) video game, but I'm sure few people will think of that, since you're not nerds like me, argh! :D But Equinox means equinox, which is the equinox, where the day is as long as the night and which only happens twice a year (beginning of spring and beginning of fall)... but also few of you will think of that, since you're not nerds like me, mu ha ha ha :D
He he, okay, so Equinox Bloom is supposed to be dedicated to a very typical, English tradition, anyway: Afternoon Tea. Which hopefully you'll be invited to and where, besides the tea, a beautifully decorated room (wrapped in lovely, floral scents), but most importantly lots of yummy things like cupcakes etc. await you, hmm :)
So maybe we can also assume that the scent could be sweet/gourmand as well as floral, but we'll find out for sure in a minute!
The fragrance:
I smell at the beginning of many floral notes as well as floral water, so I mean this scent of water in the flower pots of florists, which has taken from many flowers just a floral note, which then smells just flowery and tart and this scent floats everywhere in the air, if you just enter a flower shop. Besides, there are also sweetish-gourmandige notes, although still very light in their charisma, but they are there as expected.
The fragrance becomes quite tart in the middle part, but also quite sweet. Almost like sitting in a room eating cake and being surrounded by flowers like lavender.
Later, both the tart and gourmand scents become more intense, while the background becomes soft and almost creamy.
Towards the base, the scent becomes a bit more opulent, this could be due to both the sugar and the florals, which now smell more intense and also slightly sultry. I actually do not like it when a fragrance starts to get stuffy, but here it is not so strong, so that the overall impression is still quite good with me. It could also be that the scent just radiates nicer due to benzoin, as this is quite a nice and soft scent. So is the base of the fragrance, so there are hardly any changes to it towards the end and it also doesn't get stuffier as I feared, no it stays nice and floral. A total somewhat unimpressive, but still quite nice fragrance.
The sillage and the durability:
The sillage is okay, you will be able to smell the scent well for a while in my opinion without filling the room with it right away. The shelf life was also okay, about six hours is quite alright I think.
The bottle:
The bottle has the familiar cylindrical shape of all Penhaligon's bottles, where as usual you can see an elaborate label on the front, in this case with floral patterns. The lid is cylindrical and chrome on the lower side while it is spherical and slightly milky on the top. And as usual, the lid has a silk bow on it as a trademark, which is pink here. A very beautiful bottle, as always.
Conclusion:
Equinox Bloom is for me personally a fragrance that is not now one of my favorites among Penhaligon's, but it is not bad and especially for most ladies possibly worth a look.
Due to its gourmandigen charisma I would classify the fragrance in the autumn and winter and recommend it mainly for going out or for the evening, although this fragrance is actually quite an all-rounder on cold days, which you could also use daily, for example at work, if you do not spray yourself from top to bottom properly.
There is actually nothing more to say about the fragrance. Therefore, I babble no further rum and yes, thanks for reading and until next time, have a nice evening :)
