Carrying no, dreaming yes
7:20.
Sunrise.
The clear cold of the last October night is still in the air I am sitting on the stump remains of a once proud oak tree that adorned my grandparents' garden.
Unfortunately, over the years, this oak tree became a growing threat to the small bungalow house that stood under its proud crown.
The decision was made.
After over 40 years came the end of the oak.
Everybody pitched in.
The neighbours, my uncle, friends of the family and also I, shortly before my 20th year of life, had to help out.
It took several days, but in the end the remains of the oak tree lay scattered in the garden.
Everyone took what they could use One of the neighbours built a wooden armchair from a particularly thick piece of wood.
Well, at least according to him.
Except for the stump there was nothing left of the oak tree.
And there I sat Enjoyed the morning sun shining on the tree stump.
The peace of the waking up world and the coffee.
The smell of the wood and the stirred up earth.

5 years later came the end for the garden of my grandparents.
For health reasons, they were unable to make the 2-hour drive from Berlin to Brandenburg to the garden colony.
And so the garden, which my grandparents tended for 50 years and for me and my sister since we could think was a single, huge adventure playground, was sold.

For a long time I thought about writing a comment to Hamdani, because I would not wear the fragrance.
Nevertheless, he is something very special to me, something very intimate.
It's a memory capsule for a time long past
When I spray it on a fragrance strip, I can smell the wood again, the churned earth mixed with leaves, the smoky remains from the grill and the stone slabs.
It brings up all the beautiful childhood memories (caught grandma stealing strawberries)
Now if you'll excuse me I have to go back to the garden.

The dose makes the poison
It only smells like a horse if you spray from close up and then hold the trunk to it. Distance, then it is a wonderfully harmonious and spicy fragrance. Sure it's extraordinary and I can even understand the associations of stable, but if you like scents that can't be smelled at every corner, then it's worth a test.

I don't smell individual notes concretely, but when I read them, a "Joa, kommt hin" (Joa, comes there) comes over my lips again and again. Towards the end of the fragrance, however, I sometimes notice a hint of anise, perhaps also liquorice. But not superficial, rather subliminal.

The Sillage is strong on me and the shelf life easily comes close to the half-day mark. I'm sure there's more to summer than that. I'll see. Smell it

Hurray, I'm a horse!
A long time ago, it must have been sometime in the early to mid-nineties, I was walking along Düsseldorf's Königsallee and wanted to get to the bank quickly. I can't remember whether it was Englishe Bank, Commerzbank or Sparkasse back then, it doesn't matter. In any case, it was a huge branch with a lot of prestige and pomp. And in the foyer there was this, I'd say "installation" - a pedestal or free-standing block with or without a showcase, I can only see it dimly. In any case, a perfume was exhibited there, a bottle with a pump sprayer. The perfume was an opaque dark brown liquid and you could either take samples or get one on request. And the whole thing smelled like pure horse droppings, it was a real stable of the finest, so completely unembellished. The contrast to the bench fascinated me and left an indelible impression. On top of that I liked this horse perfume, well ... somehow. Now I wasn't a perfume wearer at that time and forgot the story for a long time, until I remembered it about three years ago (indelibly). I started researching and looked for traces and clues about this happening in the bank a quarter of a century ago - all in vain. And so I got to know EssenceVitae, registered and asked as a first official act in the forum if anyone would know a fragrance that smelled like a horse stable. I was advised amicably to rub myself with ammonia or to get in close contact with a horse. Of course there were all kinds of names I had never heard of: "Stercus", "Dzing!", "Lui", "3.1 Arabian Horse", "Muscs Koublai Khan" and many more. I'm sure there was something from "Parfums de Marly", too. I got to know all of them little by little and many more. Olfactory universes opened up, there were some nasal cleft noses (thanks Louis1!) and the horse stable receded - naturally - into the background. Until today (!), just now, frustrated and scared in view of the upcoming intermediate exams (concerning my retraining), I stopped in front of the shelf of "Parfums de Marly" in Leipzig's Karstadt, the best local address for perfume. I've had all their fragrances before and didn't expect a big surprise, but after extensive testing I fell in love with "Hamdani" again. He talks to me and says it very clearly: "Good day, I am a horse. My apples have caramel, my fur smells like sunshine and I behave like a fleeing animal." Wicked! Hamdani makes me happy for a short time, as long as the test strip lasts and that's not very long. For spraying it lacks cash, because the 100 ml are with € 215.- not quite as cheap as I would like it. But it doesn't matter, because there is the souk, thank god. In this sense: "The liaison has been rekindled, brought home by the guide ring" ;-)))

Tiger balsam meets leather
Wow this is a strong one. I think you are going to love it or hate it.
This starts with like you have a muscle plain and you are using a tiger balsam, but slowly changing to a strong leader, (like you are walking in a fabric full of leather jackets) i have to say in my opinion this one is little similar like TF white suede (only less sweet) it has olso some animalistic scent smels like a horse but very pleasent. Not bad at all.
There is a strong longevity and a good silage. I get a lot of compliments with this one olso.

A Manly Mans Smell
I agree with it smelling a bit industrial. When i went to their distribution store in Manhattan and asked for anything with incense and was spritzed with this, I immediately thought it smelled of motor oil. It was only after having taken the sprayed strip home and leaving it on my bureau and periodically walking past it, did I happen to appreciate it. I almost pulled the trigger on the purchase until i was told the price. Fortunately I didn’t because later I found (imo) Gucci Guilty Absolute to bare a heavy semblance to it, albeit not as camphoric and rich. Not to mention: waayyy cheaper. If money weren’t an issue: Hamdani > Guilty Absolute.

Wildly off-putting - some combination of smoked fish, motor oil & leather. Tad medicinal too. Might be the worst scent I've ever smelled.
