Nuxe-ury (as in luxury).
The packaging of this scent promises a very luxurious feel: The bottle stands in the middle of a beautyful box of high quality cardboard, blue with golden print.
The perfume is oily like the Nuxe body, hair and face oil but with a lot more strength where it concerns the scent.
I ordered this, hoping for it to be like the scent of the body oil and a more mild, less polorizing version of my Intense Tiaré. But I'm on the fence with this, I'm afraid the vanilla in this scent may be too strong for my likes (I think I just have to accept the fact that I hate vanilla forward scents). I really wish the smell of the bodyoil would be stronger and longer lasting because I love the smell of that! It's more bright and airy and less oriental.
This one I don't know yet, it's quite heavy, warm and thick and I really can't see myself wearing it on a hot day.
Now the good thing about this, is that I can appreciate my Montale Intense Tiaré even more, despite the polorizing reviews on that.
Montale Intense Tiaré is less 'warm' and less 'thick' (though nuclear, so I apply light handed) and more airy/ozonic.
But I'm sure people who love tiare and vanilla in their perfumes, can appreciate this Nuxe perfume, it has better performance than many other tiare/vanilla forward scents like EL Bronze Goddess or Guerlain's Terracotta.
I will have to wait for fall and winter to try this again and to see if I can appreciate it then.
For now I'll wear my Intense Tiaré in spring and summer when I'm in the mood for a Tiare forward scent.
Edit: Trying it again today because I realized that I tested this yesterday before taking a shower and there still would have been traces of Ysatis Eau de Toilette which I had worn the day before (and which is quite long lasting and strong and has a very different scent profile) and so that my doubts on this scent may have been about 'bad layering'.
Well, testing it now on 'clean canvas', it feels completely different indeed! It's much less heavy on the vanilla and much more like the body oil. (So layering this with Ysatis is not a good option for sure:-))!
I like it a lot better now, it's a beautyful Tiare and it IS now a better alternative for Montale Intense Tiaré like I hoped it would be. (because it is less nuclear and - because of the strength - I felt self-consious wearing Intense Tiaré, though liking it). This I can wear without being affraid it may offend others.
