Shaken neatly on the ear fig tree
After a long time we have again the topic "fig scent". Not a bad thing in itself when I think of Coros by Acqua di Sardegna or Phylisokos by Diptyque, for example. Both highly pleasant creations that sniff relatively authentically for the fruit or the leaf of the mulberry plant.

But as I was allowed to learn in the course of some tests, unfortunately there are a lot of blender and cheater among the fig scents. As of today, I must also count Marc Jacobs Men among them.

The reason for this is this exorbitantly dominant, yet very artificial fig imitation, which seems rather unpleasantly penetrating than flattering the nose with nature-identical fresh-fruity aromas.

Even the whole accessory, on the other hand, looks pale and does not compete with the plastic-like growth of the plant itself. Here perhaps a bit of citrus, there a hint of floral notes - and around it a slightly penetrating, cheap soapy water structure. Can be worn in an emergency, but I hope this will never happen.

The only thing I have to leave to the fragrance - and strangely enough this does not quite reflect the experiences of other perfumers - is the personal impression that Marc Jacobs Men, in contrast to the usual misshapen fig waters, does not convey a coconut note. Otherwise: there are soooo many great alternatives!

Unobtrusive but still special
Marc Jacobs Men, a simple and very elegant flankon that is hardly noticeable on the shelf next to the other more unusual designs.
The fragrance, on the other hand, is all the more memorable and clearly stands out from its neighbors on the shelves of my trusted perfumery.
I liked this coconut note with the initially subliminal soapiness. A combination that I did not know until then and which immediately inspired me
Oh? How? There's no coconut in there? Surprise! After I read the list of ingredients here at EssenceVitae... it's supposed to be cowardly, who pretends to have a coconut. Anyway, still nice.

The soapiness then increases in the course of time and rounds off the fragrance perfectly. However, this does not mean a grandpa note as it often sticks to other fragrances... Who wants to smell like an old man when you are in your 20s or 30s?
Rather, the upper categorization as fresh green applies here, and that without any vetiver at all
As Strandpirat before me also wrote very aptly, it should be noted that Marc Jacobs Men "[...] is not suitable for every day[...]". You have to be in the mood for the fragrance. If this is the case, you can wear it well in every season.
So if you are looking for something different, this is the place to be.

AND HE'S GONE...
Gone, it no longer exists. I bought it again two or three years ago and it disappeared very quickly afterwards. It was my scent when I was young. I first smelled it around 2002. In Stuttgart. The scent filled everything back then. It was as if there was only this fragrance. It stood for that time. Everything was light. The fragrance too. Just a hint, but very intense. The fig that came up at some point and became intense. Very seductive. Ideal in spring, just before summer arrives. The fragrance is not too warm that you can still feel the winter and yet not fresh enough that it's already summer. That made it ideal. A fragrance for the time when the old is over and the new has not yet arrived. Life should be like this fragrance. It was extravagant. The heavy glass of the bottle had something luxurious and American about it. Not as staid as Ralph Lauren, but new. A time to look forward to. I didn't have it for many years. A few years ago, I bought it again. It was still available at Sephora. I still like it and use it from time to time. But it doesn't seem as intense to me anymore. It goes a bit under. Time has changed and so has fragrance perception. The bottle is still very beautiful and makes a great paperweight. (Letters from the tax office are less intimidating when they have a great, heavy bottle on them) It still exudes luxury and makes you think of this new America, which is now also an old one. It's no longer new, rather a little romantic. The fig is still delicious. But it now tells more of a time that no longer exists. Just like the fragrance now.

Happy Hour in the Cocktail Bar
Phew, he really doesn't get off so well here. I have nothing against cocktails.
So we mix plum liqueur (the nightcap from the Chinese restaurant) with Batida de Coco and pineapple juice. To this we add some rinsing (frog citrus) and a lot of brown cane sugar. Although everything does not occur in the pyramid, we do not carry out any archaeological excavations here. Whether stirred or shaken - it tastes horrible. I'll stick with the beer. Cheers!
Sorry to all the lovers out there!

Subtle fig
I agree when i see people's comments about this is a boring fragrance.

Opening is great, but dries down to nothing but a faint cococnut and fig smell.

Zero projection, zero lasting power (nothing else than 1 hour).
