The day I asked at a perfume atelier in the center of Antwerp for a relaxed yet present scent for various occasions, I was introduced to Mancera Tonka Cola.
Previously, the perfumer had shown me various "freshis", all of which made a good impression but lacked any real depth. I asked for something more dynamic.

Tonka Cola presents itself with a cheeky, very sweet but (and this struck me as particularly positive) OWN character.
Nothing you've smelled 1000 times before.
The beginning stands out with a strong cherry cola note. But not particularly artificial, which is really pleasant. The cinnamon is also noticeable here. This is where the fragrance shows its youthful side. It smells like a sexy vacation on a Spanish beach promenade with a damn good cherry cola in your hand.
Over time, the crispness in particular diminishes and the cola note becomes softer. Then the fragrance goes in a more mature, denser direction and is more like a dad perfume. But a cool dad who has divorced and is now conquering new hearts again. This is where the tonka bean, vanilla and nutmeg come more to the fore.
The performance is above average but not Champions League. The sillage is average, no more but also no less. Personally, the good price-performance ratio makes it a very good fragrance. Definitely something special. Can be worn for a date, going out but also in the office (in the office more the dad side in dry down).
