Be my Valentine!
Magic potions, especially love potions, occupy us yet again and again.
The question: "Do they help or do they not help?" probably also occupies everyone; no matter for what purpose the potion is brewed and used.
But would we really drink them, these mysterious elixirs, if they were offered to us?
I'm not quite sure here, although curiosity does drive me quite far.
What I am quite sure of, however, is that Jean-Paul Guerlain knew what he was doing when he created "Philtre d'Amour"; this fragrance, which was launched on Valentine's Day 1999:
He set another of his fragrant monuments to love!
Because this love potion celebrates a love without clouds, the fusion of two lovers.
At least that's what Jean-Paul had in mind: a fragrant symbol of eternal love!
So now also "Philtre d'Amour" from green Chypre cave speaks to me with darker and yet alluring voice.
The citrus top note was interestingly and tangily complemented by lemon verbena: how elated seem the two classics bergamot and lemon through this.
This slightly tart note leads into the arms of rich, fragrant jasmine, which dresses in the resinous-spicy smoke of myrrh; in rich swathes and wide folds this flows around the white floral.
Seductive vibrations are thus laid over the fragrance structure; the fresh green is interspersed with earthy brown tones, which lead to a golden-brown veined creamy patchouli current, which spreads voluptuously with snakelike suppleness.
Is it probably this snake, which already seduced Eve?
"Be embraced, my darling! And follow me!" this fragrance now seems to sing.
For "Philtre d'Amour" carries a special fragrance sound: full and sensual, more alto than soprano voice, graceful and confident with every note!
No flowery girl magic, rather an experiencing fragrance being with fine corners and barbs shows up here.
Still no love smoothed out of habit: rather something originally beautiful!
