A bit old school
My bottle is the same as the one on top of this article. I am not a fan. It is looking too cheap to me. Therefore I was a bit prejudiced when I tried it for the first time. And this may have influenced my opinion. I find L’Aimant a bit old school. Too heavy, too floral with overwhelming jasmine and rose. I feel uncomfortable wearing it. My partner dislikes it as well. Usually we disagree a lot on the fragrance matter, but with L’Aimant we agree. Too heavy.
Longevity, however, is really good. You can smell it the next day. Sillage is also rather good - if you like to be smelled at a long distance.
So has Coty done a good job? Yes, it is a good fragrance, despite me not liking it. Have they made a success? According to the ratings in here (7.9 points for the scent) it is a success. Am I a fan? No.
