Spring in November
1932 surprises me with a luminous composition of different flowers. A hint of sweetness envelops me with floating lightness, never intrusive, not sticky or tacky. I also like the fact that, unlike most of the others in the Les Exclusifs range, the fragrance doesn't exude the typical Chanel DNA. Definitely a buy for next spring! My bottle provides brightness and a good mood in this dreary November.

J'adore, but Make it Chanel
Alright, I'll be the first one to say it here, but the EDP version of 1932 smells like Chanel's take on J'adore. I have the Les Exclusifs EDP coffret and after multiple wearings it hit me. 1932 EDP is a soft multi-floral and pear perfume dressed in the usual Chanel accompaniments of aldehydes, soft waxy musks and iris. It walks that same strange set of lines that J'adore does: it's fresh but warm, and dewy or even honeyed-sweet but paradoxically almost powdered.

People who don't generally appreciate aldehydes may find that this interpretation doesn't offend. The material is definitely present but used judiciously and in a manner that adds sparkle rather than the icepick-up-the-nose sensation one sometimes gets from No5 or No22.

Overall 1932 EDP is easy to wear, very pretty and inoffensive. This scent is associated with Chanel's high jewelry line 1932 Bijoux de Diamants and is supposed to convey the scintillation and polish of diamonds. By that metric, I think it's a great success. For those who generally find powdery iris or muted white floral perfumes appealling I think this would be an easy reach. It would make a stellar signature scent for ladies of any age.

The pears still seem to be missing... Cat cuddle factor but still present!
Soo, after trying and describing the EDT of this fragrance last week, it's now the turn of the newer EDP, which apparently will (or has) replace the EDT, as the EDT is no longer sold.

But that doesn't matter in itself, as the differences are rather small as described before and despite the few differences nobody has to fear that a possibly beloved fragrance would smell completely different now. In my opinion, the EDP even has the advantage that it now has a noticeably stronger sillage, with which you can now also enjoy the environment with the scent... or affect, depending on how you take it :D

The fragrance:
Also the EDP of this fragrance begins with aldehydes, neroli, slightly powdery notes of iris and bergamot. I find that the Sillage is slightly stronger than the EDT right from the start, and the sweet and flowery scents seem to be quicker to come in. I find the jasmine stronger here, with the EDT I rather had the feeling to smell the lilacs a little more intensively. The carnations also seem to smell slightly more clearly, even if they quickly sink under all the other floral notes, as with the EDT. Oh yes, despite the description on the website of this fragrance I still don't notice any pears at the beginning...
In the heart, the fragrance remains powdery, floral and sweet. Aldehydes are also perceived, which makes the fragrance appear a little more mature. And now you can smell Ylang-Ylangs more precisely, which make the scent a bit heavier and sultry. Strictly speaking, the fragrance smells almost like the EDT from the heart note onwards, because if you don't really concentrate on the sprayed area, the differences will hardly be noticeable in contrast to the top note (whose differences were also only slight). I would say that here the jasmine still seems to be stronger than the lilac and that the EDT, as I said, is the other way round. The Sillage rises even more with time.
The base remains the same. The fragrance is still floral and powdery-sweet and slightly sultry due to the Ylang-Ylangs. The musk smells a little stronger. A little later there are resinous notes like frankincense and opoponax, but as with the EDT of the fragrance, I wouldn't have noticed these notes without a fragrance pyramid, because they are simply mixed too much with all the soft notes.

The Sillage and the shelf life:
The Sillage is here a clearly noticeable difference to the EDT, because I find that the EDP radiates here much more strongly. This charisma is therefore good this time, so that one can smell this smell better at one and one leaves even a small smell cloud.
The fragrance has a shelf life of more than twelve hours, which I always find quite good at this time.

The bottle:
The bottle is actually rectangular, but the side edges are slightly curved outwards. The lid is cylindrical, black and has the Chanel logo on the upper side with the two interlocking "C" letters. The label is white and square. The bottle is of high quality, in itself quite nice, but a little too simple for my personal taste, but that is always a matter of taste.

So, with the exception of some minor differences and the stronger sillage, EDT and EDP differ only slightly from each other, so it should not matter which version you use, but the EDP is more recommendable because of the better sillage. The EDT seems to have been discontinued anyway, so that you don't have much choice which version you want when you buy a new one.

As with EDT, this fragrance is also a beautiful, powdery fragrance here, which comes across beautifully feminine and radiates through the aldehydes but also a little more mature and classic, so that although it is recommended to all ladies, but very younger may be less standing ... I think anyway.

The cuddly factor of the fragrance remains the same, even if fragrances that are quite powdery might cause some people headaches in the long run, I think, because I've read some of the fragrances here from time to time... I think you just have to try it out.
And if you like powdery notes, but would like the fragrance to be less mature and classic, for example without aldehydes and ylang-ylang (without which I would have liked this fragrance better, by the way), then you could also use Misia as an alternative, which is also a very beautiful powdery fragrance, which also has a high cuddling factor like a cat :)
