A beautiful ugly memory
The first thing you can notice is the milk that has been freshly boiled and has already cooled slightly, but has not yet formed any skin.

For refinement, a small teaspoon of light blossom honey was added, so that the milk already has a viscous effect.

20 minutes later the milk has cooled down to the perfect temperature, but as you know you always do the pulse test in order not to burn the mouth of the cute little creatures.

The milk now becomes very sweet, already a little sticky - creamy, which I did not identify as coconut, because it smells for me actually like the baby semolina porridge of Bebivita.

And that is as you know this semolina porridge that doesn't really taste good to us grown-ups - at least not to me :-)

I think you should taste everything the little ones eat anyway, some think you:

"Joah, is' sjar edible!"

Some people think again:

"Ieeeh, what are you doing to my kid?"

Some time later the baby is saturated, unfortunately a bit too saturated and zacky you have it on your T-shirt and it gets unpleasantly warm on the skin and just this "familiar smell" gets into your nose :-)

Unfortunately, I could not perceive caramel either, but I can very well imagine that this fragrance in combination with the other two components causes the "known smell".

A beautiful ugly memory :-)

In total the fragrance lasts 5 hours on my skin.

The Sillage is very close from the beginning, which I consider to be right this time, not that we also still get sick :-)

I would like to express my sincere thanks to our perfume "Cocinera" for the sample.

Melted Butter...
Lait Concentre opens with hints of sweet buttery toffee before quickly transitioning to its heart. As the composition enters its early heart the toffee recedes to a just noticeable level, as the real star of the composition is revealed -- very natural smelling melted sweet creamery butter. The composition at this stage remains linear through the late dry-down as the butter remains constant and any traces of the early toffee disappear, leaving the butter alone. Projection is minimal with the composition a bit more than a skin scent and longevity average at 7-8 hours on skin.

After my quite recent highly negative experience with Lait de Vanille, it was with great dread that I saw the similar title of Lait Concentre on the next sample I picked randomly out of the Chaboud set. I had to really steel myself as I expected more of the same sugary sweet vanilla and caramel previously experienced as the sample descriptor read "The scent of sweet milk and caramel shards of sugary candy.", but Lait Concentre thankfully smells nothing like that and is a pleasant surprise indeed. So what does the composition smell like? It smells like a life-like rendition of sweet creamery butter slowly melting on the stove, nothing more, and nothing less. The aroma is quite believable, and I dare say I could not distinguish it from the real thing in a blind smell test. One will have to decide if smelling like melted sweet butter is a message one wants to send to others, but there is no denying if one loves that aroma you will not find a more realistic rendition. The bottom line is Lait Concentre is an extremely linear minimalist sweet gourmand that has limited versatility, but as one who loves the smell of melted butter this reviewer approves, awarding the composition a "very good" 3.5 stars out of 5 rating. Lait Concentre is recommended specifically to melted sweet cream butter gourmand fans that don't mind its relative simplicity.

Sweeties for the fairies.
Now what a delight this is. I was worried about testing yet another milky sugar but this one really is skilful. The familiar tones of condensed milk with the caramelised notes of dulche du leche. This is so light and transparent that it is as the night time drink of a delicate fairy. The notes are there, but as bright and crystallised as the sugar they come from. Nothing is cloying, nor too sweet whilst being the sweetest thing there ever could be. I like Sophies style. She is funny and very clever. Toffee for the fairies. Transparently gourmand.

Why is it rated so low?
I can't understand how this fragrance is rated so low. I tested it at Esxence and now have a full bottle.
Think of the smell of boiling milk. Now imagine you forgot to take it off the stove on time so now it smells a bit burnt/caramelized but extremely milky too.
That is exactly how this fragrance smells to me. It feels so cosy when the weather's colder.
It also has mad longevity on my skin. My sister tried and said the same thing but at some point it started making her a bit nauseous.
Perhaps not for everyone but for those who like it, I believe it's an easy 9+.

Oh and it layers well with Lait de Biscuit and Lait et Chocolat .

Rich, rich, rich!
On me, this opens with straight up milk and coconut. I remember once, Starbucks introduced a coconut cappuccino, and if you've ever smelled that, the opening of Lait Concentre smells exactly like that minus the coffee. It quickly transitions into a sweeter and richer warm milk.

An hour or so after, it settles into a warm and rich sweetened milk, which shares some similarities with another Chabaud creation - the Lait de Biscuit. After this point, it ceases to develop further, but is by no means lamentable, especially if you fancy gourmands like these. It is yummy and smooth, tempting warm milk on a cool evening.

This is labelled as a feminine fragrance, but I think it is possible for a man to pull this off alright.

Sillage was pretty good, especially in the first half of wear. It was easy to pick up its scent when I've only applied it to the crooks of my elbows. It lasted 6 solid hours on me.

So this does indeed smell like milk, warm sweet milk, simple, but nice. Super poor sillage and projection though so that's a bummer
