Banished earth
After Bvlgari with the cacophonous "Wood Essence" had scared me first, I did well to give this "Earth Essence" in spite of everything a chance. Because this one is really decent!

Bvlgari (only real with V as U ;-)) has created with "Terrae Essence" a silky-synthetic work and office fragrance, which of course not only the name reminds of Hermes' modern classic, but also sets its own, creamy accents. And there's something about interpreting a powdery iris in a spicy, earthy way. Even if the chemistry lab is never too far away. This synthetic is done right and pleasantly. A little scratchiness here and there - otherwise soft, round and wrinkled like a baby's amber butt. Suit-scented, brownish, styrax makes pressure. Understatement and self-confidence combined. "Black Afgano" I don't smell, but it's a little stoned and woozy. A modern interpretation of "Papaduft". The boss about to retire. In VR. The earthy 60s are back?!

Flacon: a hobbyhorse of Bvlgari
Sillage: discreet and officeübertauglich
Durability: 6 hours and 43 minutes ;-)

Conclusion: a late attack on Hermes? Partially. Takes away from the fragrance but yes nothing. "Terrae Essence" is finally once again a fundamentally good Bvlgari and no comparison to "Wood Essence"!

It is an aroma that is not bad
This scent starts off a bit intense, the citrus is a bit heavy but not overbearing. It feels a bit smoky, earthy, it develops over the next few hours. The aroma performance was about 5-6 hours with 5 sprays. It has an average projection of about 40cm on my skin. I don't find it too synthetic.

Once to be Ben Hur frozen in amber!
Introductory question: After the Bible, which book was the most printed in the world in the 19th century? ... Correct!

Sonach erschaue one of the flacon noble Tricolor: gold, marbled white, amber glazing. Now the argus-eyed pan on the for the sake of haptic people rotatable (open - close, open - close, open - close ...: hard to let go of it), extremely delicate push button; nothing less than the venerable Colosseum he is modeled, with its namely not at all accidental curvature. And if the "aquarium" should be flooded but once empty, so this bottle will give the most beautiful showcase for your most cherished jewelry.

Demotorized chariot races everyone likes, even if he just does not return home from a galley punishment - and this is the fragrance for it! A distant chord or two of Terre d'Hermes and even Gucci Guilty Absolute pour Homme may play into it, yet Bvlgari Man Terrae Essence is extremely unique, sheerly niche. To my delicate nose, like a precursor to oud, only much more grounded and by no means a barnyard scent. In possession of that liquid olfactory gold may henceforth the oud barbarians confidently throw the lions in the Circus Maximus to the grub.

For how do Elysian fields smell, how does the sweat of a victorious charioteer (no one hurries the horses more carefully and skilfully around broken axles), how does the victory over, among others, the proud Roman Messala smell, how does the conversion by Jesus smell, how does the renunciation of any revenge and similar trivialities smell: exactly like Terrae Essence!
Now the Dufttwässerchen may not quite radiate to the back row of the 150,000 to 250,000 spectators ("Zuriecher"?) seizing Circus Maximus, but well perceptible it is all the same and treats its wearer, without taking a great transformation, his 4, 5 rich hours of enjoyment.
After the weak Man Glacial Essence, the rather mediocre Man Wood Essence, the house of Bvlgari has in 2021 unlogen rausgekoffert one. A fully unschwuchteliger (for forgiveness!), Genuinely masculine, never before seen earthly fragrance scent.

A dismal failure
Absolute disaster. I smell rotten oranges.
The worst opening I've ever had the chance to experience. It is that bad. It gets better as it dries down. Anyway, do not blind buy. Terre d'Hermès is always going to be held as a classic. This one though is going to be forgotten very soon. It lacks effort and genius.

I’m lovin’ this
Man… this one is awesome

I can “understand” where the TDH comparisons may be coming from, but it does NOT “smell like” TDH… at all… there’s a “familiar feeling” that wafts in the sillage trail, a masculine, earthy tone that someone can say “feels ALMOST like” TDH, but the same? No.

When I read these reviews and comparisons, I was expecting it to be the citrus feeling that was the root of the similarity, but it isn’t. I was expecting it to be a citrus bomb by the way it is portrayed and described, but I wouldn’t say that’s the case. It leaves a very proud, very masculine sillage trail. If I close my eyes and try to describe the vibe, i would say it reminds me of a very red sky at sunset, on a very dry, red sanded desert. Egyptian artwork appears in my mind as I try and give a closed eye description. Dusk, dry, hot, and red-orange colors.

The citrus IS there, it’s just not very loud or sharp… it’s almost as if you’re spraying a vibe/feeling than a fragrance. A very confident, respected man would wear this. I see it working in all seasons.

Performance is medium. While the sillage resonates nicely, the projection radius is medium-small, and the longevity backs off to a skin mode rather quickly (maybe 2-3 hours). It remains present for a solid 8+ hours, it’s just close to the skin.

I’m enjoying this a lot. It is an experience, to say the least. I can understand the TDH comparison, and if that is WHY you’re skeptical, give it a test spray, as it’s not what the reviews paint in your head. I really reminds me more of Aqva Amara more than TDH, but not because of the citrus. It’s what’s in the air as it resonates… hard to put into words… how the last 4 hours of Amara smells on a very hot day, but amplified… that’s how I feel it.

Terrae Essence is a dry balsamic styrax, woody and earthy. Citric touch in the opening, a hint of iris. Slightly smoky and resinous drydown.

In a nutshell, it's Gucci Guitly Absolute with more citruses and vibrancy. But it also falls in the weird balsamic land of Black Afgano.

It's like you dug up the most masculine, bitter, earthy citrus fruit from a lost ancient desert.

Einer der besten Everyday Parfüms mit holzigen und zitrushaltigen Noten. Der Duft ist absolut Männlich. Duft kippt schnell, also dunkel aufbewahren!
