Green Figs
A L'Ombre du Figuier sure is true to its name! It smells intensely of fig leaf, a very pungent, green and natural smell. The ginger adds a nice touch of bitterness while the fig fruit can be distinguished on the background as a vaguely sweet, somewhat juicy impression.
This is very well done, very true to the source! It actually makes me think I'm there lying under a fig tree somewhere in the dry, sunny Greece.
It's more Aromatic Green than Aromatic Fruity. Overall more leafy and sharp than pulpy and sweet, with a drydown that reveals a sweeter, somewhat honeyed woody accord.
