Unobtrusive Oriental
Now, with my third Bijan, I am sure he didn't intend that his perfumes project overmuch. They're just a tad above a skin scent. To reek, I'd have to spray on half the bottle. Fair enough. He was a man who loved society and was probably acutely aware of the effect of a room full of heavily-perfumed beautiful people. I can almost hear him launching a one-man campaign to return oxygen to uber events. "I'll make enchanting perfumes that the wearer can enjoy and the person right next to her or him, but not everyone in the room." Fair enough. I'll wear Opium when I want to reek, not this conservative darling of an oriental. The top note dazzles with restraint, the heart florals beguile discretely (wish I could find a sample of Tiaré, that South Pacific gardenia Gaugin's subjects wore in their hair). The base is demurely delicious. Fair enough. Next time I go to the White House or Buckingham Palace, I'll wear Bijan.
