A royal, floral fruit bomb
Empressa - a royal, floral fruit bomb.

When I first sprayed it on, Empressa was and is a fragrance with a DNA that I have never smelled before. Absolutely unique and special.

You really get a royal and elegant fruit explosion combined with really fresh and floral accents. A pleasantly light fragrance - perfect for summer and mild evenings with your loved ones.

Unfortunately, my impression of the perfect summer fragrance faded after a very short time. The supposed fruit bomb evaporated more quickly than it was sprayed on - so the longevity and sillage on my skin were unfortunately really poor and not worth mentioning. After about 1.5 hours, there was nothing left to recognize and perceive. Unfortunately, this is far too little for the high price!
Maybe it's different for you. For me it was unfortunately an absolute disappointment - that's why the fragrance had to move on...

A clean soft pleasant chypre with milky peaches
I think I have some kind of noseblindness with this one or something, because I feel this is supposed to be a strong sofisticated perfume, but for me is just some creamy soft peaches with some touches of dark green that make it fresher and reminds more a soapy chypre.

Very clean and soapy. But yeah, the main player here is peach, milky peaches

I will try in different weathers because Penhaligon's to me change in my skin depending of how hot it is

Superficially fruity, pleasantly fresh and floral
The Empressa is a superficially fruity fragrance. The strong fruity component is complemented by pleasant freshness and floral impressions. You get a consistently solid fragrance here.
Feminine? Tendency yes, but still definitely unisex wearable!!!

The fragrance starts directly with this "fruit explosion". Fruity impressions per excellence come shooting into the nose. Is it all too much? Not in my opinion. I like that!

Followed by the fruity "Schelle", pleasant freshness and floral impressions are added.
It is usually the case that the fresh accords are anchored directly in the top note. Here, however, it is actually the case that the freshness only comes after the strong fruitiness. However, this fits together so well and creates a harmonious overall picture.
The noticeable floral accents are also present.

Towards the end, it becomes a little sweeter again and a refreshed musky cloud comes through.

The performance is really good on my skin. It lasts a long time and projects quite well.

Fine, dubaian fruit salad
What happened to Penhaligon's?
One of the most English scent houses, which has given us sweethearts like the LP No. 9, formerly Love Potion No. 9, created by the same perfumer, is swallowed by the ubiquitous Puig and the English peculiarity of the scents, the oldschool-crazy, the tea-wearing, tea-drinking element, disappears completely?
Not like that, guys.
If Empressa EdP had been handed over to me in an unlabeled bottle, and not - as Kankuro did in a well-meaning way - as a super-labeled gift with a name on it, I would have tipped another manufacturer, another name and another target group after the first sprayer.
He's not bad at all! No, no, it is even balanced and beautiful, apart from the initial fruit bomb head note. As soon as it has settled down, the scent begins to please me, because the Escada summer scent presumption soon fades away and clears the way for a fruity, Middle Eastern spiciness. The seasoning factor keeps the juicy fruit under control and makes Empressa a more noble representative of the genus summer cocktail.
In the base there is a little bit of angl-like dark cocoa, which finally makes me mild again, after I was so annoyed at first, because what does a bucket of fruit salad have to look for in the top note of a fragrance from the Trade Routes Collection?
Initially a little undecided, the fragrance shows potential after some time.
Overall he is still too little "special" for me to buy, not to speak of "English" at all. But as a wacky, fresh-fruity summer fragrance with a light oriental touch, it is worth considering for people for whom the other, more synthetic summer fruit waters are not noble enough.

Reminds me of Elizabeth Arden Sunflowers—sharp yellow floral with a hint of fruit. Cheerful, but don’t overapply!

The first few minutes feel like a punch in the face but it settles into a lovely citrusy earthy scent, gives homey orange orchard vibes.

First, it’s overwhelming. Then it’s very soft and pretty. And then, it’s gone—in less than 5 hours.
