Beautifully simple and true lilac
As a kid, I walked home from school. There was this one stretch of the path that was partially shaded and lined with many trees, snowball bushes and, in the spring, blooming lilacs. This smells like that. It brings me right back to the school's-almost-out-for-summer feeling, the quiet of that path....sigh.
It's pretty much straight-up-lilac. But I think there's something about lilac that's kind of complex in itself with a balance between freshness and warmth...but maybe that's my nostalgia talking. Being kind of a one-note scent also removes some of the "old lady" risk here; it's not muddled with any other florals, musk, or powder.
The roll-on is my go-to before bed. It won't last til morning or stick to the sheets. It's so inexpensive I don't try to "save it up" for occasions where I'll see anyone (besides my husband). It's just perfectly pretty and comforting enough to lull me off to a happy sleep.
